Has anyone gone to Macy's for their ring appraisal?? and how did they feel about them?? If you didnt get it appraised, what are you using for your insurance??

Macy's 34th Street is the best. I faxed the report right to http://www.jewelersmutual.com/ and got insurance.

I got it appraised at the jeweler that we got the ring from and then put the ring as a rider clause on my parents home insurance with State Farm. It was 100 for the whole year. When we move into our apt and get renters insurnace then we will put it under that one

agree - i got my ring appraised at macys 34th street and have my ring insured through jewelers mutual also

i think its a percentage of how much the ring appraises for - so the more expensive the ring the more money they charge for the appraisal - there might be a cap though - not 100% sure but i think this is how i remember it....

I got my ring apprasied at Macys Herald Square. It's all about the diamond. It's like 75 bucks for the visit and 10% + according to the diamond. My ring is close to 2 carats and it was $110 bucks and I purchased a cleaner for 5 bucks. I got it insured with mom's home insurance with allstate for $350 a year.
