ring dilemaaa

ring dilemaaa

so first off i love my engagement ring, but this weekend my mother looked at it and said its a shame, but the band is so dull.

With any jewelry i wear I always tarnish the bands, i have a couple of options

every 6 months to get my ring redipped

or to get a new engagement band,

I attached a picture of my wedding band, and my engagement band,

please let me know what you think will look good with the band!

what kind of band would you be looking to do????

you have such a beautiful wedding band already. I think that the e-ring and the band stand on their own perfectly.

perhaps if you did a thin pave band (to match your ring of course) on your e-ring it would look good.

How does your FH feel about changing the band of the ring he specifically picked out for you?

Is there a way to lift the diamond in you ering? I think if you are wearing them together it will look a little off KWIM?

From the pic your ering looks yellow gold and like it's not lining up right

My opinion, and you're the one that has to be happy with it the rest of your life...

I like the way it looks now the way it is, but if you want to get a new e-ring band, I would go with a row of little diamonds to match the wedding band.

HOWEVER, I know that my e-ring is sentimental to me bc my FH designed it with our jeweler so i wouldn't want to change it and would probably just get it redipped every 6-12 months.

That is my problem , i dont know what kind of eband setting would match my wedding band. Would the thin pave band match my wedding band? lol I am so stupid when it comes to rings

FH at first was hesistant but sees spending money adds up. He always hears my mom comment on it anyway so he would just like everyone to be happy.

are you doing it to make YOU happy? or to shut your mom up? (believe me, i understand if it's the latter!)

i see what my mom means, it does look dull. i do like my mothers approval on things but i dont like to not be 100% happy with a ring my FH paid a lot of money for.
I feel like getting it redipped will just be wasting my money after a while and it may be better to get a new setting i just dont know what kind will match my wedding band. lol

my fh spent a lot of time picking out the stone and was clueless about bands, so he went with whatever the jeweler picked for him.

IMO, then you should get a thin band of diamonds that matches the edge of your band (it looks pave to me from the pic) or a thin plain band that won't show the tarnish as easily (a much cheaper option i'm sure).

good luck...let us know what you end up doing!

I think it looks beautiful as is! Both gorgeous rings

I would get it dipped before the wedding and after that not worry about it.

I've had my platinun e-ring for 7.5 years and never had it polished. I know it's a little different since platinum is supposed to have that patina, but still it's not shiny. I plan to get it buffed next week for the wedding and then I probably won't again for many years.

This. The back of mine is getting a little tarnished (I've only had it since October!) but I will be getting it redipped for the wedding, and then afterwards I dunno...
