please post the price difference between your appraised value (from a real appraisal, not the value your jeweler gave) and what your FHs actually paid for your engagement ring
you don't have to put the actual prices if you don't want ... but please share how much the diff is

Jewelry usually appraises for more than it cost so insurance companies can charge you more to insure it.
Mine was pretty close from what I understand, but I'm still not allowed to know how much my ring cost. DH is adamant about that!

mine didn't ... it appraised for about $700 less than what FH paid ... i want to see how badly i was ripped off lol (actually, i want to use these numbers to my advantage when speaking to the very rude jeweler tonight)

my ring was appraised close to 10 k more than what FH paid, and that was w/o the setting.
if your ring was appraised for less that what they sold it to you for, i would def say something!

if your ring appraised for less, i would take the GIA certification he received when he bought the ring and take it back to the jeweler (along with the appraisal from a certified appraisal company) and either ask for my money back or for a different diamond stone
