Ring Questions

Has anyone every had there wedding ring appraised with out there FH finding out.

I haven't, but I don't know why he would have to find out.. You can go to pretty much any jewelry store and have it done... I recommend Gennaro's in Bellmore, they are very reputable, and do everything right in front of you.

Nope - he knew. I got it appraised for insurance purposes.

Why wouldn't you tell him?

No, we got it appraised for insurance purposes, so we both know what the ring was appraised for.

FH got it appraised on his own (for insurance - it was on our homeowner's insurance before he even proposed!) and showed me the appraisal report.

Why do you think your FH wouldn't want you to know how much it's worth?

My FH showed me the GIA report and appraisal, not to prove anything to me but just to show me info about my diamond. Do you think your FH would try to pull the wool over your eyes?

No. He got it appraised for insurence purposes, but he didn't tell me and I didn't ask

So, you either want to see if he got ripped off, or you want to see if he is telling the truth. Either way, why not tell him that you want an appraisal. And if he spent 1K does he love you less?
