Ring Re-sizing

Ring Re-sizing

Does anyone know if most jewelry stores will re-size the ring either while you wait or same day... a few hours or so? I do not want to leave my ring there overnight. I got it Saturday night and can't wear it yet b/c the jewelry store closes @ 6pm every night and I have to work so I can't get there until this weekend. Then next week I am going to California so I am hoping not to have it to leave b/c then it will be about 3 weeks without me wearing it.

I'm going insane, I just want to wear it! What are the normal procedures for this? I have to say my ring is humungous- it's probably going to be a big job.

I got my size taken at Zales (actually at the outlets because it's across from my job) and they said they would do it same day but only on Saturdays. I would imagine a regular jeweler could do it same day then.
I didn't use them because it was included if I ship mine to where it came from but it took almost 2 weeks

I got mine sized at genero jewelers. They charged $80 I think n it took about an hour for the whole process. Tricounty also does it but they take the ring away from u and u don't see it for about an hour which made me uncomfortable.

I think it depends on where you go. Are you going where you purchased the ring? Maybe call and ask and tell them you are coming and want to wait for it. I don't forsee it being a problem.

I just saw a commercial for this jeweler saying 'your jewelry never leaves your site!' I think a few girls on here have gone there, the name sounded familiar before I saw the commercial.

Where my fiance got my ring, they said in order for it to be the same day I would have to come when they first opened and the come back a few hours later.

I got mine done where we bought our ring and we were able to wait. I guess it all depends how big the job is. Mine only needed a lil tweak so it was done on the spot! What did your jeweler say?

Yeah they said if I come when they first open it will probably take a few hours, which is fine. I am just nervous b/c I have tiny fingers and a huge ring lol and I am leaving for Cali next week so I want to have it before I leave.

Someone from this site recommended Gennaro's to me when I was looking to re-size me, and they were great. They really know what they are doing! They do it while you wait and your ring never leaves your sight!

You can also get a ring guard until you are able to get it sized. I took my ring to my local jeweler and for about $10 they put a ring guard on which took a minute. This could be a temporary solution.

Argyle Jewelers in Babylon will do it same day. Just call ahead to make sure the jeweler is in but he usually is there on Saturdays.

I trust them completely, My mother and I have used them for years, very reliable and trustworthy.

I grew up in Bellmore and Gennaro is actually my jeweler of choice but my fiance wants me to go to another place where he got the ring...but yeah if they won't do it same day, I'll probably go to Gennaro. I guess if they advertise it doesn't leave your sight then they have to stick by that.
