What else can he hold? I don't really like the pillows.

That would be cute if he carried the sign. I've also seen it where on the back it says And they lived happily ever after, for when he walks back up the aisle.

Re: ringbearer
if he is 2 then the sign would have to be small or else he might be tripping over it or just not able to hold it up.

like a ring box or jewelry box? if its not heavy should be fine. But just remember with kids that young its unpredictable, half of them dont end up carrying what they are supposed to, or dont carry it the right way or run down the aisle.
oh dont put the actual rings in them though. Even with RB pillows nobody uses the real rings attached to the RB pillow, they use fake ones. Most when you buy them have the fake plastic rings attached to it, mine was the same. You dont want to trust a 2 year old with them lol. That is why the best man is given the ring, he needs to have it anyways bc the best man hands the rings over during the ceremony. You could do the box but not real rings inside

Re: ringbearer
I know people don't have the ring bearer carry the rings. But, then what is the point why the 'ring bearer'?

well at one time im guessing they actually carried it but then i guess after seeing how kids dont do what they are supposed to lol, and some even flinging the pillows or not holding it up right, which they are young so cant expect it but i think after incidents they probably changed it to fake rings. They still use the rb to keep with an old tradition i guess and to make a certain young family member a part of the wedding, just to give the child their recognition i guess.
Theres alot of stuff still part of a ceremony that was around long time ago but really no point of it but keep to it bc of tradition.
Ive seen rb's flinging pillows, throwing the stuff they have to carry, running with it. And last thing you want is for them to fling it and then having to stop to look for it. Its up to you of course. My rb was 2 1/2 and fg was 3. They did a great job but at the same time he held the ring to the side of him not in front which i didnt mind at all and they walked down the aisle holding hands well though and did what they were supposed to.

Re: ringbearer
This is probably a dumb question but does the little girl walking with the ringbearer have to hold a pillow with a ring on it too?
