Rings

Will you be wearing your engagement ring and your wedding band on the same hand or are you going to split it?

We started looking at bands but I can't decide which one I want because I can't decide how I want to wear them.

Suggestions and ideas?

Re: Rings

I have two wedding bands (both blessed during the ceremony) one that matches DH which I wear on my right hand and one that matches my e-ring which I wear on my left w/e-ring.

Good Luck,

Re: Rings

I wear mine together. My e-ring doesn't really fit on my right hand and I liked the look of them together. If I fell in love with a wedding band that didn't match my e-ring or was really thick, then I would've worn them separately.

I also thought about getting 2..one solid plat. and the other to match the e-ring. I'll let you know..after i go looking at the cost of these thingS!!!

I'm definitley going to wear my rings together. They just look 'complete' to me when they are paired up :) But everyone's different

Re: Rings

I wanted to wear both my e ring and wed band on my left hand because I am traditional but my e ring is so wide that it'd be way too much with even the skinniest wedding band, so I am switching our e ring to my right hand. I actually like the idea of being able to take off my diamond ONLY when traveling, working in tough neighborhoods, swimming, etc. Some of the wed bands we viewed were only HALF a ring, so worn alone it looked unfinished!

You could have a band custom made like we are doing. We are discussing that idea with our designer who is holding a trunk show next month! They will take your e ring and make the wed band match the details perfectly. I'm also part of a forum with over 300,000 posts about diamonds and ring photos so FM for info.

The 1st photo is a model of our ring & the 2nd is our diamond before we set it. The 3rd is just an example of milgrain wedding bands, but ours will be custom made to look more like the princess cut stones of the 4th pic.

most likely, I'll mostly wear my e-ring only for special occasions, but I'm going to get a band that compliments my e-ring anyway!

Re: Rings

Mine matches my e-ring, but I'll probably wear e-ring on right hand.

Re: Rings

i'm going to wear both rings on the same finger...although my band will be different than my husbands...my band will coordinate with my engagement ring and he wants a simple plain band

Re: Rings

So...is there a 'correct' way to do this?? I will not be wearing them on the same hand, so am I 'supposed' to move my e-ring to my right or do I wear my wedding band on my right??

Re: Rings

I wear mine together, but some days, depending on my mood, I wear them apart, with the wedding band on the left and e-ring on the right. I guess they look more 'blingie' together but there is certainly no wrong way, and don't let any nosy person tell you there is! (People asked me why I wore them 'wrong'--rude!) For the wedding day, just move your e-ring to the right so he can put the band on your wedding finger during the ceremony.

If you wear them together, though, be prepared for the platinum (not sure if W/gold does this) to tarnish a bit on the inside of the e-ring, since it'll be rubbing/sitting against your wedding band. No one sees it, though, and you can always have it polished out. Happens after a few months of consistent wear. I spoke with my jeweler and unfortunately it happens to most women's rings. I guess if your e-ring has a thin setting the chances are less, though. I even emailed the folks at Good Old Gold about it once....
