How much did your fiance spend on your engagment/wedding ring...?
Some say you should apply the 2 month salary rule, others feel whatever he can afford...
Just out of curiosity, if you dont mind sharing!

Re: rings!!
I agree. I love mine and it's exactly what I wanted. It doesn't matter to me how much he paid.

Re: rings!!
how can you ladies have your rings insured if you don't know what they are worth?
FH gave me all of the paperwork for my ring so I could have it insured, which of course includes the price. I really didn't care how much he spent (as long as it wasn't too much! We were just poor college students when he proposed), but I still needed to know for practical reasons!

Re: rings!!
i have a vague idea of what he spent - we had to ship it from ny to tx b/c it didn't get finished until after we moved, so i know how much he told me to insure the package for. i don't know how much it will appraise for though b/c we haven't done that yet. it's probably more since our friend only charged us for materials and not labor and design as a e-gift to us.

I only know because of the insurance. I think I would've rather went through life not knowing.

Re: rings!!
I know how much he spent. We have all of the paperwork: receipt for the ring, appraisal paperwork, GIA certificate, etc. We then got it insured and appraised at a second place (other than our jeweler just to be safe). I answered the poll but I won't post it on here-- just not something I'm comfortable with sharing openly. My FH worked very hard to get me what he did and I'm happy because it's great quality and something I can keep forever and ever and eventually pass on.
I have a pretty good idea, but I would never ask. It's exactly what I want, and I'm

Re: rings!!
I know, mostly because we have shared accounts because we already bought our co-op and had been living together for a while and I saw it on our cc bill later that month... we have also discussed it after the fact when paying our bills and stuff... I didn't know it was suppose to be a secret... We are very open with each other and disuss everything.
I would also like to add as the other ladies did... I am very happy with my ring...
