Hi, I'm new here. I'm not sure if this post is in the correct place or not, but here goes anyway. My FI and I are going this weekend to look at reception places. Does anyone have any reviews or comments on these? Anything they didn't like about it? And can anyone tell me what kind of price quotes they've gotten? We're thinking a Friday, Aug-Nov, 2005. Thanks so much!!
i've been to north ritz club and rivera.... they are 2 total different places and feelings.
i vote north ritz club. my sister was there and the place is by far the best i've ever seen. i would get married there but my sister already took it.... i hate my big sister...hehe
well, I am biased, but NORTH RITZ CLB!! From people I know who have had their wedding there to perfect strangers--EVERYONE tells me how amazing it is!! The food, service, how immaculate it is. Some lady my mom ran into yesterday randomly said her 'oh I went to an affair @ the North Ritz Club last March and it simply amazing. Everything I picked up to eat was out of this world, the place was so perfect, they left no stone unturned!' I was so happy to hear that! Not sure about prices for 05' I am nov 04 but we booked it in 02' so i'm sure they have gone up since. good luck!!
OH! Riveria is very too, just totally different feel like someone else said!
Hi! My fiance and I are going to book North Ritz this week for May 2005. We both love it there! The place is beautiful, it is only one affair at a time and the food is fantastic! I think the pricing for a Friday night Aug-Nov is around $95 but you can probably either get them lower or have them throw in extras. I have never been to Riviera so I can't help you on that. FM me if you have any other questions on North Ritz. Good luck!
I didn't visit the Riveria but I had my reception at the North Ritz and couldn't have been more pleased. I got married not long after they finished their major renovations and from what I hear they keep adding to the place more and more. The service was great and the food was really good and plentiful. I had not one complaint. I can't help you on price because I got my price in June of 01 (during renovations) and I hear they have increased significant since.
I'm a Riviera bride, so my vote would be for - the Riviera!
The reason why my FH and I love it so much is because it is so different from most catering halls. It is a huge old house with beautiful dark wood and a high cathedral ceiling over the dance floor. We found it to be very warm, romantic and charming. We also love how it is right by the water with a beautifully landscaped and secluded area for an outdoor ceremony. (We wanted an outdoor ceremony and with most of the places we visited, the ceremony location was by a main road where you could hear and/or see cars.) Plus, the price is terrific!
ETA: I sent you a FM (Forum Mail) with their prices.
I've went to both and booked with NRC, I'll tell you my PERSONAL reasons, you have to take into consideration everyone has different tastes....Riviera I thought the layout was very odd, the lobby area isn't very big for guests to arrive and lounge before the ceremony or before the cocktail hour, the cocktail hour is off to the left side of the main reception room which you have to walk through to get to the cocktail area which doesn't have a wall in between rooms - the main ballroom is kind of like at an angle sort of like a V shaped, but not that deeply anged so I felt it would be kinda strange. and it's low ceiling above the seats, but high ceiling above the dance floor area, it has a fireplace and dark wood floors and I think it had some wood panels on the ceiling. The one thing I did like was the outdoor ceremony area which is facing the water. I thought the driveway area was very tight and to close to the road. OKAY, NRC - i like the neutral marble floors and decor - I would say contemporary, they have separate Cocktail hour room with lots of window's and french doors facing right next to the outdoor patio and ceremony garden area - so the flow makes sense, the lobby is gorgous and roomy, has a piano, with a wonderful staircase and is high ceiling, so the flow is ceremoney into the cocktail room to the right of the lobby, then you cross over the lobby into the ballroom which is huge and classy, they have the gold bamboo style chairs, they have a separate room all together for an indoor ceremony downstairs, the bathrooms are even nice, there is a nice bridal suite upstairs and you have the whole place to yourself.... have I said enough..
