Re: Riveria in Massapequa

I am noticing a lot of people telling me here about the unattentive service to the bridal party-I am actually going there soon to talk to them and should I say that I want to make sure that they pay special attention to this? How do I go about this? What would you say??

Can someone please also FM me which Photographer you are talking about? I'd hate to choose the wrong one...

Re: Riveria in Massapequa

I went to my friends wedding there this past week. I have to say it was beautiful. The ceremony outside was breathtaking even though it was only in 40's. The view is great. Unfortuantely the cocktail hour was a bit cramped since everyone sat inside due to the cold weather. (who would have thought a mid may afternoon to be 40 degrees) The line for the coctail hour was very long it took almost 20 minutes or so standing on line. Most of the guests sat at the dinner table to eat. No body really seemed to care though. With 200 people it was tight. THe head tables were all on the corner of the dance floor. The view out the back windows was spectacular. You don't catch the sunset, but the moon was shining on the water right through the center window it was beautiful. I will try and post pics soon. All in all it was very nice. The staff was excellent and the hall itself is very pretty and romantic. My only concern would be the ammount of guests. Personally I think 150 would be the max. Some of the guest seated in the back of the hall were more in a hallway and I know that this was a concern to the groom as they were not aware that the seating would be so out of the way.

Thanks for you review!

My wedding is there in 10 days!

We're having only about 115 guests, so I don't think crowding will be a problem.

I'm PRAYING for nice weather to take advantage of the outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour.

I'll post my review when I get back from the HM.

Im getting married there next July, and I am concerned about it being overcrowded (Im having 200 guests). I sent a copy and paste of the review to my mom, and told her she better cut HER guest list (I have been arguing with her about this anyway). I hope that if I have good weather and people will be outside that the crowding wont be as bad.

Balcony Pic - This was so cool. The bride threw her BO-k from the balcony. It was so cute. I don't think the pics do the hall justice. It is really very pretty.

Re: Riveria in Massapequa

I just want to say that in the defense of the Riviera (and I am not saying this because my wedding is there) that there is more to the cake story than what is being told. (but I guess that's with every story, right?) I know because I heard all about this incident from a friend and the girl was supposed to order the cake herself but didn't and then called the Riviera last minute and told them to order it. She didn't specifywhat kind of banana filling so I guess they just gave her banana pudding and she is right she didn't ask for flowers so the place gave her like a $150 credit my friend told me. I just really think the banquet managers there are so good and helpful so I don't want it to seem as if they are unattentive and ignorant of things. JMO, but I wanted to share what I knew of the story.
