Riviera?

Riviera?

Anyone getting married here or been to a wedding? I'm going to look tomorrow night. Still can't decide on a place, but I know I want water nearby (i'm a pisces and love the beach!) Any opinions/comments are welcome. I looked at Riverview in Oakdale and it was a little far out for me but otherwise pretty and I like the casual feel.

thanks!

Re: Riviera?

did you do a search on the reviews here?

If you like water, also look into:
Carltun on the sound
Bridgeveiw yacht club
Crescent beach club
Venitian yacht club
Russos on the bay
Giorgios
Captain Bills

HTH!!

thanks, what's it like and is it reasonable? Are you having a day or night wedding? I am looking for May or June of next year but i'm flexible. Did you guys do a tasting? I love that it's in Massapequa b/c my sister lives nearby and i could get ready at her house.

I can't figure out how to search for just Riviera reviews... sorry, i'm new at this.
Love Russos, but have been to so many weddings there (we went to a great one last summer and the food is always amazing)
We looked at Crescent and Bridgeview... Crescent is too pricey for us and Bridgeview was good but we didn't love the food when we went for the tasting... haven't really checked out the others, thanks!

I am getting married there. It's beautiful, on the water, has only one wedding at a time, etc. I did do a tasting and it was delicious!!! It's extremely affordable and you get SOOOOOOOOO much. FM me if you want more info.

Re: Riviera?

ive been to MANY events there and we even looked at booking there - it was just too small for us I felt but we are most likely having 200+

for an average or smaller wedding - its a great choice!!

I just got married there. It was beautiful and the staff was awesome. The food was great, the view was beautiful. Everyone said they had the best time and even the DJ said that it was the best food he ever had at a RH.
Good luck!!

Re: Riviera?

to do a search look above the navagation scroll thing and it says Search in little blue letters. Then it gives you a thing to fill out. Use that to look under the brides reviews for Riviera. :)

I'm getting married there!

The view is gorgeous and I hear the food is great- I went to a tasting- but the couple who was having their wedding (you go when there's a wedding and they bring the cocktail hour food into the offce for you to try- you don't get to try dinner food) picked alot of seafood and mushroom-y stuff...I don't eat seafood or mushrooms. They saud we can schedule another one closer to the wedding and they'll try to find a wedding that picked alot of what we would want.

The staff has been great so far, the ballroom is very rustic and the bar is huge. I'm not a fan of the cocktail hour room so I'm praying for great weather so we can all be outside

Good Luck!

PS- we are having a saturday night wedding September 1, 2007

thanks! you're lucky though - the two tastings i did they gave us dinner food, and i would have rather tried the CH food (my rule of thumb at a wedding is usually eat the CH food b/c it tends to be better). I'm hoping for outside too - good luck with your weather - September is a great month to get married, my sister had the best day - I just don't want to wait that long and this year is too soon.
