Hi all! FH and I are going to Riviera tomorrow to discuss some final points before hopefully booking there! We are getting an incredible deal for a Friday evening in March, though obviously Saturday is much more preferable. We were able to get a slightly lower rate for a Saturday but not really what we were hoping for. Does anyone have any quotes they can share for Riviera on a Saturday evening during off peak months, particularly March, or even some negotiation tips? So excited to book our venue finally that I'm ready to just sign the dotted line for the Friday, but I know I should still try to get the best bottom line for Saturday so we can consider the options. Any help and tips are very much appreciated!!

Tell them that you love the place but you really wanted a Saturday and you were getting a better price at another place. I guess their competition would be chateau la mer or something similar. They would hate to lose you to competition. If they can't lower the price, they might be able to offer some extras!

Thank you for the reply! That's what we did; shared a quote for a comparable venue with similar menu and views in Westchester for a Saturday. And Whenever venues are significantly more expensive typically from our experience of shopping around. Riviera met the Saturday quote of the comparable venue, but for a Friday, which really isn't offering much but they did throw in upgrades. Someone pointed out to me that because Friday in March falls during Lent, a decent amount of guests aren't going to be eating meat (big Irish Catholic family), so the price and upgrades (meat) are not really much of a deal if most of the food is going to be untouched. I don't really follow this, but it is definitely a point to consider and put on the table tomorrow! We shall see what tomorrow brings!

Ahh yeah I see. We accidentally negotiated with our venue. We just couldn't afford the price that they were giving us so my fiancé basically said that it's just out of our league and they called us two days later and came down to our price! I would just stay firm and make your point about lent.i would mention that you're going to see Larkfield. I remember when I went there the BM said that they weren't excited that they renovated. Good luck!

Riviera is great though, We booked with them almost two years ago now. I can't wait for our big day. I don't know saturday quotes since I'm a sunday bride but they threw in the chocolate fountain and champagne cart (I don't know what that is though)

We are also booked with the Riviera but for 2016. Champagne cart is just champagne glasses they greet guests with as they come in. I thought it was a nice touch so I asked for it specifically :)

Re: Riviera
So we did not book at our last meeting as planned. They came down to 91 for that Saturday, and addressed our concern about Lent by offering Friday 2/28 for $80pp or Friday April 10th for $83pp. No upgrades except maybe a chocolate fountain. When FH followed up with them regarding 4/10, it was $88pp, not the all inclusive price we were offered at our meeting, but they came back down to $83. Worthwhile to pay extra for April, even on a Friday, we feel. We just have to schedule another meeting to discuss upgrades and hopefully book. But we still have yet to do a food tasting or anything. Any input on the food and whether they offer food tastings? Also suggestions on how to negotiate upgrades! Any Riviera brides out there, what upgrades did or have you gotten?? Enjoy the beautiful sun today, everyone!

Woohoooo! You're getting married on my birthday!! No idea about prices for peak season, but they will be honest with you if you email or call ahead before visiting and ask about price. And they are open to negotiate. They have a price range they can play with, they'll offer you the highest price they are charging to begin with, you just have to negotiate a bit. I just booked for Friday, April 10, 2015 at Riviera! Their dates are filling up quick so hurry!

We're booked at the Riviera and got an amazing price. It's the Friday of Memorial Day weekend, so I'm not sure if that made a difference. They gave us a minimum of 120 on a Friday and we said that if we guarantee 130 can you bring the price down a bit. They agreed without a moment's hesitation. They also threw in a ton of stuff. My mom was concerned about not having a pasta course (we're Italian) and he threw in the pasta station.
