Riviera Feedback?

Riviera Feedback?

Hello All!

FH and I are considering booking at the Riviera, but I wanted input from anyone who's willing to give it first...

So, if your wedding was there, you've been to a wedding there, you've visited and have a strong feeling--PLEASE let us know your thoughts! Positive and negative.

Also, if you did HAVE your wedding there: Any tips if we should decide to book with them? Are they negotiable on the pp price? Will they throw in extras if we ask?

Went to a wedding there and loved it. Everyone kept saying that it was the best wedding. I think that any more then 200 people would be too cramped in the room but it has an amazing view and the food was really good. I was really impressed, they did a wonderful job. We looked there but it was too small for us unfortunately. Good luck. If you have any specific questions let me know.

Re: Riviera Feedback?

Thank you so much!!

We're probably only going to have about 100 guests (I'd say 125 max), so size shouldn't be a concern for us. Did people have issues with not being able to see the dance floor? I read in a few posts that the odd shape of the ballroom space was an issue for some people, but it may only pose a problem for parties larger than ours.

We love the views and the look of the place. We like that it's atypical. We have a tasting scheduled for next week. Keeping our fingers crossed...

Re: Riviera Feedback?

The wedding I went to was only about 60 people so there was a lot of space between tables but I think that you can arrange the tables in such a way that you won't need to use that little hallway like area that leads to outside. Everyone should be able to see the dance floor a little at least and honestly if you have to put the less close family/friends towards the back, not to be mean but its kinda just how it goes lol.

You should really enjoy your tasting. I really have to say that I thought the food was great, I ate SO much that day. I don't eat shrimp ever and I was eating shrimp with bow ties and loving it haha. They set up a mini venetian in the cocktail hour room with a chocolate fountain, cake, little ice cream bar, and all cookies, pies and pastries and everyone was raving. It was all truly delicious.

And yes it has a very non traditional look for a hall but it is so charming. My FH LOVED it there it was his favorite. He loved the exposed beams and high ceiling, but for our party they were going to have to put 4 tables on the dance floor and put the DJ on the balcony and I just didn't like that idea very much

Both times I've been there the food has been awesome!!!
The first time was a few years ago at my brothers wedding and the second was a few weeks ago. Beautiful hall, good drinks and awesome food.

2 heads ups tho - check what the minimum amount of people you have to guarantee are, I believe you have to guarantee 125 ppl. You don't wanna get stuck paying for empty chairs
And
sadly there are a few blind spots to the dance floor, I didn't notice till just a few weeks ago when I was sitting in the back and we couldn't see a lot so if you book there play around with the seating

Thank you both!

As for minimums, we've already got those numbers. On a Sunday (which we're considering), it's either 100 or 110, depending on whether you want afternoon or evening.

Do either of you have an idea how many people they can fit comfortably without putting people down that little hallway, where they can't see the dance floor or ON the dance floor?

i think at my brothers he had about 150-160 and they overflowed into that hallway, not sure about the last wedding we went to but it was less then my brothers and we were the last table and in the hallway but not by much.

but both weddings no one was on the dance floor or felt crowded. they were also both set up different each time. like were the head table was

Re: Riviera Feedback?

My wedding was there and it was A-MA-ZING!! I loved loved loved everything about the Riviera. It wasn't the typical RH that we kept seeing, it was homey and a little rustic and so beautiful. You can check out my album, and I can also FM you a link to our pro photos if you'd like.

As for your questions, they are absolutely negotiable, so don't be afraid to haggle with them. Also they threw in SO much stuff for us when we booked (chocolate fountain, espresso and cordial bar and a bunch of other stuff I am forgetting) and they also threw stuff in at our final meeting (mashed potato bar!). I dealt with Michele and I loved her, she was no nonsense tell it like it is. I also talked with Vicki a couple times who is also wonderful.

We had 140 people, and we did have to have one table in that weird little hallway space, but thats it. It is a partially obstructed view of the dance floor, but we put guests that we knew would be up and dancing the whole night over there so it didn't really matter.

Check out my review for more info, and feel free to FM me with any questions!

I have been to two weddings there and both were great! Good food, good service and the site is so charming. Definitely a good choice if you are having a smaller wedding.
