Riviera Massapequa and Lombardi's on the Sound advice needed!!

Hi everyone! In the process of choosing a venue for our summer 2013 wedding and need some help.

Riviera- how many people can it fit comfortably in the cocktail room and ballroom? We loved the place and the price but are concerned about fitting everyone. We are hoping to have around 180 but could end up with up to 200 or a little more. What are your thoughts on the space? Also - how's the food?

Lombardi's on theSound- also loved this place, but are concerned about the ceremony space. The people we spoke to said it could hold 230 outdoors for the ceremony but it lookd very small. Can you really squeeze that many comfortably? Any other reviews of this place are also appreciated!

Also- any other venue recommendations are appreciated! We would prefer somewhere with an outdoor space and view of water.

Thanks!!

Riviera Massapequa and Lombardi's on the Sound advice needed!!

If you are only having 180-200 you will be fine at lombardis. I have a friend that works there and he said 210 is the most it can hold I know they say 230 but it's 210 comfortably. Plus the food is great you can't go wrong! I've never been to the Rivera so I can't give any info on that but lombardis is my Venu and I've been to a wedding there that had about 190 and I didn't feel uncomfortable! Hope that helps!

Riviera Massapequa and Lombardi's on the Sound advice needed!!

I vistited Lombardis on the Sound and what I didn't like was that the golf club was open and random people would be walking around the venue during my wedding.

As far as waterfront venues have you tried Bridgeview Yacht Club and also Chateau La Mer?

Thanks for the help everyone! I tried Chateau La Mer and didn't love it- especially the multiple weddings going on at a time. Unfortunately Bridgeview doesn't have dates available that would work for us next summer. I still love the Riviera but am concerned with size as our guest list grows and Lombardi's on the Sound is still a top contender but reviews seem to be mixed. Such a big decision!

Lombardi's was our second choice. FH's reunion is there in two years so i'm glad I at least get to go to an event there!

Good Luck with your decision.

Keep in mind that a majority of people do not attend the ceremony so if you are having 200 ppl, I would say less then half will prolly show for the ceremony. Imho.
