So, here is the deal. My mom has a timeshare and we are thinking of doing a mini family vacation in Mexico (mainly Riviera Maya since the flights are cheaper).
I am trying to make this a somewhat reasonably priced vacation (since we just came back from our honeymoon) so I wanted to do a non-inclusive resort (since im not concerned about the booz).
There are a few units available at the Mayan Palace resort, however, I am concerned about the price for food in the area. Has anyone ever been to this resort or this area that can tell me if the prices for dinner/lunch are reasonable and what to expect?
Also, I wonder if the non-motarized sports are included (such as snorkling)?
Also, i wanted to inquire as to whether this area is reasonable for families? My father recently passed away and my mom is coming on vacation with us and I dont want her to be depressed or awkward if they all seem to be more couply resorts!! I dont want us to be the only families there!
Thanks!!

Re: Riviera Maya ..Please help
Riviera Maya is gorgeous. I've been there once already and I'm actually going there next weekend again.
I've seen the Mayan Palace resort and it looks really nice. I actually work for Liberty Travel and am an expert on Mexico. We don't sell this resort which is why I'm not too familiar with it. Have you definitely decided to stay there? If not, I can recommend a few hotels that would be good for your family.
Please feel free to ask anything about the area. I can tell you anything you may want to know about what to do & see there. FM me for more info :)
