You pretty much got the whole story...the girl and her fiance booked the Riviera and were so happy...but, then her FI was deployed overseas and they had to postpone the wedding. The Riviera was less than accommodating (which is surprising - I thought they had a good reputation). Anyway, the catering manager was able to re-book their date, but he STILL wouldn't refund the couple the FULL amount of their payment (they had paid $6K toward their wedding already).

The mgr. went so far as to question if it was TRUE that this poor girl's fiance is actually STILL overseas (can you say LOSER??) AND THEN...he goes a step further and says, 'we are not even at war anymore...'

What a moron! With all of our service men and women STILL deployed and ACTIVE overseas....I'd say that our country is still VERY MUCH operating as if we are 'at war.' Not to mention the state of jobs/economy issues we are having b/c of it...but whatever dude...your stupid catering facility is MORE important....sheesh....some people!!!

Wow that is messed up but when you said they didnt get their money bac k and they paid 6000 they said they didnt get anything back or they didnt get the 1000 non refundable way. either way it sounds wrong but i am curious about details.

Wow- I am surprised -- Riviera in Massapequa was one of my top choices but we decided against it for several reasons (one being too small for our wedding) but the other was I didnt like the banquet manager at all - I think his name was James. I wonder if that is the same guy. Hopefully they get their money back.
