Rivieria vs. Watermill
Hey ladies!I have narrowed my venues down to two places. The Rivieria in Massapequa and the Watermill in Smithtown for my January 2015 wedding. I have my list of pros and cons but would love to hear others opinions especially regarding the food and service. I have never been to an actual event at either so that sort of perspective would be nice. I will be taking my fiancé back in the next week or two to see them (he hasn't seen them yet) and then we will make a decision. In the meantime, I'd love to hear what everyone's thoughts are (positive and negative) on these places. Thanks for the help girls!

Rivieria vs. Watermill
I have not seen Watermill, but I did visit the Riviera. I loved the ceiling about the dance floor - those dark wood beams are so gorgeous, the view of the water is great, and I really liked the fireplace. However, I was completely unimpressed with the indoor cocktail hour room ... I thought it was outdated and I didn't like all of the mirrors.

the food at the watermill is great, CH is fantastic. Since our wedding I've been told they have changed the menu - we had the estate menu and the CH was so big everyone thought that was it for the food. No complaints on the service Jeanine was my BA and she was FANTASTIC, Brian was the matre D' and he was great, was so happy with both we put extra money in their envelopes at the end of the day. My only suggestion, gaurantee as low of a min. as you can, we had a lot of last minute out of town cancellations and they would not work with us. We totally understood we had to pay for them, we were just looking for them to put something in place of the dinners they would not have to make. All of a sudden you couldn't get anyone on the phone and nobody wanted to return a call. Other than that, it was fantastic.

Rivieria vs. Watermill
I've never been to the Riviera but I'm getting married at Watermill in 2 1/12 months and I love it! The food is AMAZING. I love the grounds to take pictures and if you're getting married in the winter the outside pictures are fantastic. They just put some winter pics up on their face book page so you should take a look. The staff there is wonderful, so nice and very helpful. So I'd go with Watermill but I'm just a little biased

I have to say I am biased also but the Watermill is beautiful. I have had no problems so far. The only thing I would say I was disappointed with is that they don't do an actually tasting of the entrees like some venues do. However, They have an amazing spread of CH food and pasta and dessert at their bridal show, which was delicious. Overall, I can't wait for my wedding and anytime I have a question, they are more than happy to answer it.

Rivieria vs. Watermill
I've never been to the watermill but have been to 2 weddings at The Riveria. It's a nice place if you are having a small wedding but both times they def had over 100 people and it was way too crowded. Im surprised people didn't spill plates on each other at cocktail hour bc it was so crowded. Also, there are about 5 tables who cannot see the dance floor which really makes you feel like youre not part of the wedding. If your wedding is small though, it will be lovely

Rivieria vs. Watermill
I'm booked at the Watermill. My fiance loved it as soon as we walked in a booked on the spot. My only problem is after we booked they switched our BM and our new one has been less than helpful and I feel like our day is a little unimportant to him.Other than that, only good things. Samantha is fantastic!

I was a bridesmaid in weddings at both locations. Both were two of my favorite weddings I've attended. Great food, great locations. Riviera might have the slight advantage for having one event at a time.

I'm booked at the Watermill for Jan 2 2015 and I could not be happier!! Its absolutely beautiful in the winter. Food is amazing - every vendor I meet when they ask where I'm booked and I tell them they get so excited and RAVE about how good the food is! lol

Rivieria vs. Watermill
I have to say, the ONLY thing I don't particularly love is that my ceremony isn't until 7:30 and the reception doesn't end until 1am. We didn't have a choice in this, and I think its a tad late. Even a half hour earlier would have been better for me. But from what I hear nowadays, lots of weddings go that late and even later so I guess I shouldn't get too upset over it.

I have never been to the Rivieria but I love the Watermill. I have been to many affairs there and live not too far from there so I watch them decorate it every year for the holidays. The food is great, the inside is beautiful and the way they decorate it outside is gorgeous. I love see it in the winter cause they do such an amazing job. Good luck with your decision!!
