I just ordered BM dresses from them last weekend. I've heard negative things about getting alterations done there, so we just did the no frills mail order (VERY inexpensively), and my girls will go elsewhere for alterations!

OMG I know... I have heard mixed reviews too - I'm going for my try-on tomorrow - I don't know what all is involved in the first try-on - do I have to decide if I'm getting alterations done by them tomorrow as well?
Do I need to bring my shoes? OMG lol now I'm anxious.

I got my dress from them too. I know they charge $350 for alterations. Do you think thats expensive? I dont know what the going rate for wedding dress alterations is.

I'm taking mine elsewhere mainly because I don't live in NYC and they have really bad appointment times. You can either go during the day during the week, or at 9:30 on a Saturday and they are very inflexible.

I guess I'm getting mine done there - I don't know anyone else that could do it. I feel like if you have someone who you trust - then bring it elsewhere - I think they're alterations are on the pricier side.

i answered on BHB too, but i am having mine done elsewhere. i have heard a lot of negative experiences with them and its just not worth it to me to take the chance. what good is a beautiful dress if its not fitted to you properly? or your bustle falls completely apart before you even make your entrance into the reception? (happened to my friend last month at her wedding who had her alterations done there). and its not like they're a bargain either so they really should get it straight. i didnt know a seamstress either but to me it was worth it to ask around and do some research. I am sure people do have positive experiences there as well, but with hearing more bad than good i didnt feel comfortable chancing it.
