Hi Ladies! I am planning to head to RK Bridal tomorrow morning and have a few questions. How is the store organized...by designer? style? price? or is there just no organization at all?? I dont want to spend all day (and i cant because i have plans) but if I need to I will reschedule...just trying to figure it all out in advance Thanks

Re: RK Bridal
It's organized by desginer and everything is squished together on racks. You have to help yourself and on the weekend you can wait sometimes an hour to get a dressing room. There is also a limit on how many dresses you can try on.

So if you are looking for a particular style, lets say mermaid, you have to just look for it yourself?

What she said!! It's *really* hard to see the dresses, so unless you are going with a few particular styles in mind that you know they have in stock, I might try some other places first. I had pictures of the dresses I wanted to try and I gave them to my mom, sister, and BM to search through the racks for. Also, you'd probably be better off going during the week. If you must go on the weekend, get there as SOON as the store opens. I got there 10 minutes after it opened and had to wait an hour and a half for a fitting room.
I *hated* it there though. The lady who eventually.... finally helped me told me I looked awful in the dress I *really* had been looking forward to trying on.

Yupp. I had ZERO help. I wanted Maggie dresses, so they pointed me towards the rack and that was it.

Ooh I went off on her! I told her that there was not a chance in hell that I would ever purchase my dress from a place like this. She also refused to let my MOH help me getting in and out of the dresses and rushed me out of each dress. She acted as if she was doing me a favor just by being there! I had such a horrible experience.
On the flip side, my cousin went a few years ago and had a *wonderful* experience there. We went on a Wednesday night and the lady was so patient, helpful and courteous.

Re: RK Bridal
omg wow thanks so much ladies!!! I didnt realize how crazy the store was. The problem is that they do have one dress that I want to try on that no other store on LI has....i've called the stores that carry the designer but no luck. RK said they had it there to try on so it looks like im stuck going there just to see that one dress. Seems like it is going to be a huge pain but i really loooveeee the dress

Re: RK Bridal
its chaos in there...if you see styles online you like, write them down and ask if they have them in. someone may be able to help you locate them but on a Saturday it may be nuts there.

Re: RK Bridal
I think everyone who has had a crazy bad experience has left a message here.
go and try this place out. they are cheaper for a reason - because you do have to help your self.
i went there and my experience was fine. the sales lady was very helpful helping me try on dresses although i did have to pick them out myself. but i was not told that i had a limit to how many dresses i could try on.
however, if you are buying BM dresses *(i bought mine there for my sister's wedding last year) they are less helpful

are you allowed to just try on the dresses w/e you are w/o waiting for a dressing room?

Re: RK Bridal
I went on my lunch hour and it was fine, quick and the saleslady was helpful. However, I also had a specific list of dresses I wanted to see, and knew I wanted a slimmer style (they put those all on the same rack, so I only had to go through one). It was also a weekday. Maybe I'm not much help... hahahaha

There's a sign in sheet so if there's people ahead of you, you have to wait.

That's exactly why had to go there- it was the ONLY place that had the dress I wanted to try (the one I looked awful in ) I think you're better off going during the week.
But definitely try the place. You don't even have to order from them if you don't want to, at least you'll have the opportunity to try the dress you've been looking for! Good luck! Let us know how it goes!
