RK Bridal

Did anyone buy their dress there? I purchased mine there thursday and was wondering if I should use them for alterations?

I bought my dress from them too. And I was thinking the same thing. I am still waiting for my dress to come in. I might get my alterations from someone out in the Island since I live here. Plus, I think there was a thread about brides having bad experiences with the seamstress. But, I too would like to hear the feed back. by the way, which dress did you buy? I bought a maggie sottero 'yvette'

I used them for my BM dresses and they were a pleasure to deal with.

Re: RK Bridal

I used them for my dres and 10 BM dresses. I was not happy with the alterations. I had to go 3 times. They kept saying I was losing too much weight when I was NOT and then they tried to charge me extra on top of the CAP of $225 (or whatever it was). I didn't end up paying that and my dress was ready when they wsaid it would be but it was TOO LONG and I was tripping on it all night.

As for BM dress, one of my BMs got pregnant, told them she planned to be pregnant and when her dress came in and she went to have it altered there, they said, we don't taiolor dresses on pregnant women.

So that was my experiece for what it is worth!! Good luck

Re: RK Bridal

Thanks for the feedback - sorry to hear of your experience Rlivings...I hope you didn't have to pay more than the cap - a cap is a cap!

I'm worried b/c I need to get the bustle done correctly so I may just have them do it. and keep my fingers crossed. My dress is a simple watters and watters (getting married on the beach) so hopefully they won't screw it up too badly! I may try to order my BM dresses elsewhere although I can't find it on the website to figure out the style number.....and they didn't have style numbers on the actual dress when we saw it in the store. Thanks for your input - good luck!

I was happy with ordering my dress and the timely manner in which it was delievered! I was LESS than thrilled with the alterations especially the shoddy excuse they called a bustle

I went down there today to have my 3rd fitting, and so far I'd have to say I've been very happy with the alterations. The bustle looks pretty complicated, so we'll see what happens with that on the wedding day. Overall, I'm happy with them.

You know, the price of their alterations is $250 and I think it's outrageous. That's probalby how they get their money back from offering the dresses at below cost.

I don't know - I only know 1 person (not from here) that got her dress at RK and she was OK with the alterations, but her mom paid for it. She said they did a good job. But I think it's too much $ for alterations.
