RK Bridal - Alterations

My dress finally arrived and I picked it up this weekend from the new RK Bridal location. Fell in love with it all over again! What a great feeling. I also purchased a veil and a vintage hair piece all for under $150.

I scheduled fitting appointments with RK Bridal, still keeping in mind other seamstresses. I'm a little nervous as it is a lace dress and has intricate crystal beads in the back.

Has anyone done alterations with RK Bridal?

Ive heard very mixed reviews about their alterations dept. I know alot of girls who buy their dresses from them will go elsewhere for alterations

I had an terrible experience with my bridesmaid alterations there. First the ordered the dress like 5 sizes too big. Then they altered it to a point that it was too small, and I had actually LOST weight. Thank God my uncle was there, he is a master tailor, and father of the bride. He had to actually EXPLAIN to the woman what she needed to do to fix the problems. Morning of the wedding he was fixing all of the bridesmaid gowns that got screwed up in the alterations at RK.

HOWEVER! My cousin got her wedding gown there and altered there, and she had nothing but a good experience. So maybe they just aren't as careful with the bridesmaid gowns but understand how important it is for the brides gowns to be treated with proper care.

Got my dress at RK Bridal and I am getting my dress altered somewhere else. Mostly because I don't want to factor in traveling all the way from Ronkonkoma to the city for three appointments (that's about $60 in travel). I have an appointment with Alterations Unlimited by Gina on Friday, we'll see how it goes.
