RK BRIDAL!!!-How long in advance should you order??
I know that I`m totally procrastinating, but can anyone tell me how long RK bridal takes to order a wedding dress? My wedding is in October and I have not ordered my dress yet!! Am I running really late? It seems that people have had good experiences with RK bridal...right? Good thing that I don`t have a bridal party to worry about!! I would appreciate any suggestions. thank you.

It all depends on the the designer. You aren't too late, but you should do it ASAP. Some designers take up to 6 months for their dresses to come in.

I was not particularly thrilled with RK. Plus their store on the Upper West Side was sooo small and cramped that everyone was fighting for a dressing room and the ONE mirror that they had. I was too frustrated to continue my shopping there! I understand, though, that they have moved their location to somewhere in the 30s off of 7th. Hopefully it's a larger (much) location.

RK BRIDAL!!!-The New Location
The new location is HUGH - Its the Wall Mart of Bridal Shopping. A great place to try on lots of styles without a lot of fuss. The have the largest and most varied selection both in price and design that I have seen. Go during the week, Thrus. eve or Early Sat. I hear Sat afternoons are a ZOO.

RK BRIDAL!!!-The New Location
How is the service now? When I went it was so impersonal! Basically, they wanted you to know what you wanted before you got there and then you were sent around to go get the dresses yourself. There were racks and racks of dresses so compressed in their space that you could barely get a look at them. Also, the sales people (although very nice) were not very helpful. There was a general attitude (I felt) of get the dresses, try them on (and quickly) and move aside for the next person. Not the experience I was looking for when purchasing my dress.

The service was ok. Its more of a self service atmosphere than what you would find in a salon. The staff did get gowns on request but no one was 'bringing in things I might like'. Personaly, I wanted to try on a lot of styles to see what I liked and be left alone doing it. It served my purpose. I did compare prices on two gowns I was considering - they were better priced. Enough so that I would have considered ordering through them. Unfortunately they don't carry my designer. Oh Well, cant get a bargin all the time.

RK BRIDAL!!!-The New Location--compared to Macy`s Flowerama??
Thank you everyone for your replies and comments! I really appreciate it. I have gone to RK once and had a good experience, at the new location. That is actually where I found my dress....my first wedding shopping experience. Then I went to Kleinfelds and Saks (both of which I did not like the experience). I have not gone to Macy`s Flowerama (sp?)...I don`t know how that compares to RK bridal. Flowerama also has my dress. Comments abour Flowerama? Thanks again! :-)

I would bet you do better price wise at RK. Im guessing Flowerama is a little on the high side because Flowerama was $100.00 higher on my dress than Bridal Reflections. If your not 100% comfortable with RK check Flowerama out. You never know until you take a look. The Flowerama in Manhasset has a large selection, roomy dressing rooms and attentive staff. There have been many brides on this board who were happy with their purchase there.Welcome New Vendors
