RK Bridal 'No Frills'

I went with a couple of my maids after work to RK Bridal to see if we could narrow down our choices for a dress. We ended up all falling in love with one specific dress. My intention was to find a dress there and then find it on LI somewhere so we can all go and have everyone try on, get measured, and ultimately get fitted. Well, the dress through the 'no frills' program is $184 and everyone on LI is $280+.

Have any of you ladies successfully ordered your BM dresses through here? Any issues? Please share any and all feedback! Thanks!

RK Bridal

RK Bridal was awesome to work with!! I found a dress online for cheaper than they had listed in the store, and they beat the online price by 20%! The dresses were shipped straight to my house beautifully packaged before the expected arrival date.

Thanks, I already tried them. They don't have the sample in store, but said they could order it and it would be $211. Most of my girls are in NW Nassau, so it's kind of a pain to get to.

So, all your girls went to get measured someplace? How did you determine the correct size to order everyone?

Re: RK Bridal 'No Frills'

I did this for my wedding dress.

I found it so expensive everywhere else on LI. I got my bridal gown for a great price.

Also, I suggest getting the girls measured somewhere else so that they can order the dresses from RK Bridal. Most salons will not release the measurements unless you buy the dress from them.

Also, under the NO FRILLS program, you also need to find a seamstress to do the alterations. I have one in Valley Stream that did my dress, my MIL and Grandma's. My bosses' wife and DIL went to her as well when her son got married. FM me if you want her info.

I highly recommend the program and RK Bridal. I had no issues. I ordered my wedding gown 6 months before my wedding and it came in one week. But the bridesmaids gowns might be different.

Re: RK Bridal 'No Frills'

You can get the girls measured at a Dry Cleaning place. I did this for my girls. We ended up getting them at a Bklyn store that matched RK Bridal.

I don't think we'll have a prob with alterations and measurements. My question was about ordering the size. The way the website made it sound, I have to compare the girls' measurements and the size chart and ultimately make the decision on what size to order. Is that true? Or will they at least advise what size should be ordered.

I had the girls send me their measurements. I then determined their dress sizes based on the measurements they gave me. I found the size chart on the dress designer's website. Some girls were between sizes, but I ordered based on their largest measurement. I then filled out all the info on RK Bridal's order form. I faxed it into RK with a copy of the website where I found it cheaper. That was it. It was really easy and a smooth process.

All of their dresses fit perfectly (with some common alterations needed here and there...length, waist...nothing crazy).

If you can find the dress cheaper online from a legit website, they'll beat the price by I think 20% or 18%.

RK Bridal

I highly recommend Here Come the Bridesmaids... it sounds like it's similar. We found our dresses elsewhere, then all of the girls went there to get measured and they helped us choose the right sizes. The girls who couldn't make it there called it in and they chose a size.

We did this for my FSIL and it worked beautifully... we ordered mine in November and they came in yesterday. They were significantly cheaper. They were really nice and helpful, and are located right near Penn. Bridesmaids.com

Edited to clarify: cheaper than bridal boutiques - I don't have any experience with RK

I just had them get measured, then they called me with the measurements and we looked at the size chart together and decided. We also ordered based on the largest measurement (with one exception of large hips for the A-line style.) No problems with sizing. The dresses came in earlier than expected. The only alterations needs are a few busts taken in a teeny bit, and the dress being cut.

I was really happy with the no frills program. Saved us a ton of money!

Did you buy your bridesmaids dresses at Doris or Valentina in Brooklyn? My daughter is considering going to them and I would love to hear your experience. Thanks!

I went to Doris Fashions before and I only deal with Maria. She is a sweet lady. But, I know others who had bad experiences there with alterations. They do match prices so thats good.

Valentina I heard mix things so I never dealt with them. But, there should be a girl named Daniela in there. She is great!

I just checked their website and they have the dress on there and it says the 'sale price' is $172! So, you got that sale price and were able to be measured at the store??
