Rk bridal questions

I heard that its a mob scene there. Does anyone have any tips or any information I should know? I'm visualizing it's like the running of the brides so I'm kinda scared.

I went this past Saturday. They open at 9:30am I probably got there at about 9:45/10:00. I started with BM dresses and it wasn't that busy. However, it was busier on the bride side. I decided to try on some dresses because I am looking for a second dress and I was waiting a while for an available fitting room. They do have good prices and will match lower prices. I called around today and did find a bridal shop that is lower than RK for my BM dresses.

It's NOTHING like running of the brides. That being said, it does get crowded. Get there early and bring a bunch of friends. If you have a few particular dresses you are looking for, print pictures and give the names of the styles to your friends, they can help you search the racks. It is a huge warehouse like place and the dresses are separated by designer. I don't recommend going there unless you are looking for a particular dress. The dresses are SO stuffed in on round racks that it's hard to tell what the dresses really look like until you pull them out which is a hassle and you have NO help doing. On the weekend you are limited to 5 dresses which they RUSH you out of so I recommend trying to go during the week if possible. They also will not allow you into the dressing room alone (I guess so you can't take any photos) so leave your modesty at the door and put on your running shoes because they really rush you.

As you can probably tell, I HATED this place. It's not a bad place to order a BM dress from (once you've decided on the dress) since it's cheap, especially if you use their no frills program which I have and it was great. I actually only went here because it was the ONLY store that had a Maggie Sottero dress I wanted to try on. I put it on and the lady told me it was awful and that I was too short for a dress like that and let's go change. Needless to say I was pissssssssssed!

On the flip side, I visited places like Charisol Bridal in Queens and Paradise and Village on LI and was head over heels in love with all three stores. They treated me so well, particularly Village Bridal. I would've purchased from there if they carried the designer I eventually went with.

if you can handle the scene its def worth checking out the selection but i get overwhelmed easily and it was way too much for me... and i was only there to try on a BM dress for a wedding im in! i know my friend was super happy there but it was an anxiety inducing experience for me lol

I jsut went there last night, and although I knew what to expect going in, I still hated the place. The staff are not helpful at all. I actually had to zip up the dresses I was trying on myself. I did like that I could browse the dresses by myself, that nobody was pushy to buy something, and I tried on about 10 dresses. The place was just a little overwhelming. Like the girls said earlier, it's a good place if you know what you want. I definitely would not go there for a first time experience though.

I got my dress at RK as well as my BM dresses so I have gone there many times. For dress shopping on the weekend, I recommend getting there before they open. I got there when they opened and was seen quickly and it didnt start to get super crowded until I was leaving around 11am.

I work in the city so we went alot after work at about 5, and it is a great time to go, the store is pretty empty!

I went with a friend for her bridal dress and honestly i did not like the service. i didn't like the fact that we had to find our own wedding dress and the people working there i felt like they had no experience.

I was there on Monday with @hedwards and it was empty. Though the space is large the spaces between racks are tight and the dresses are packed closely together in their bags making it difficult to see what it is. I went because I wanted to get an idea of what styles might work best on my body. Since no one was really shopping we were given good service by the women working there.

My suggestion for the ladies: go if you know EXACTLY what style you're looking for (they claim to have the best prices and will match it if it's cheaper someplace else) or go if you are a frequent sample sale shopper who doesn't get overwhelmed easily.
