I am finally about to get a high speed connection and want to know the pros/cons of Roadrunner and Optimum Online?
I currently have.....I dread even admitting it.......AOL unlimited plan dial up.
I hear Verizon DSL is pretty good but it's not available in my area.
Any info. about problems with either service are appreciated (self installation, billing problems, customer service, connection problems etc.)

i have had NO problems with optimum over the last year - technicians were friendly and helpful, customer service great, and speed is incredible.

there is a big difference between roadrunner and OPT Onlnie
1. you can only have 1 of those companies depending on where you live... so if you find out which service is in your area...then u you found your choice

you can only have one or the other depending on where you live. I had Verizon DSL for a year (contract) it SUCKED. It was so bad. OMG! it was awful. they've improved since, ut....I have roadrunner, and FH has optimum online. No problems or complaints AT ALL! :D

I live in Brooklyn but according to Cablevision and Time Warner, I can get either Roadrunner, Optimum Online or Earthlink in my area.

BK, I have timewarner for my cable tv but can get optimum online in my area too.

difference speed for price (opt online has best ratio for what your getting)
an avg. user won't notice but a power user would.

I must be an average user. I am only annoyed with my dial up when downloading pics.
