Hey girls

I want to buy FH an engagement gift, preferably a Rolex. If anyone purchased one could you let me know where you got it? Thanx girls!!!!!

DH does not have a rolex but desperately wants one. So we look at them ALL the time. I've found the best selection on LI to be at Tourneau at Roosevelt Field.

Just so you know Rolex is the only watch maker that does not offer discounts on their watches. The actually tell store how many of each watch they will have to purchase in order to remain an authorized dealer.

We actually went there which is where FH found the one he wanted.....BUT they are sooo overpriced. my sis originally went to London Jewelers which is where she got the best price bc they are discounted (somewhat)! But i wanted to still look around to compare prices.

Oh my goodness, you are so lucky. My FH has been wanting a Rolex for years. Whenever we are in Roosevelt Field Mall, he basically drools at the windows. He is dying for a Rolex. I wish I had the money to purchase one but they are sooooo expensive.

I am sure your mom gets an awesome discount, you are so lucky. I think that they are way overpriced but what do i know. My most expensive watch is a Technomarine.

This thread cracks me up-just the other day at the mall we were talking about gifts for each other, and he said 'a rolex would be nice'-he said it all cute and what not.....of course I told him a Bentley would be nice too

I wish I could afford to get him one...but I just cant, so i am going to get him a diamond Movado instead

You can purchase Rolex watches at Wempe in NYC. They have a big selection.

I got my husband (fiance at the time) a Rolex from Kravitz jewelers on Long Beach Road in OCeanside. If you go in, ask for Irene she is awesome. I went with them because he can go in there as many times as he wants to get his watch cleaned/polished as many times as he wants. They take care of all the warranty info. for you and they also allow you to trade the watch in if you want in the future, for the same amount of $$ that you purchased the watch for, you can then upgrade or get another watch. I liked this idea b/c I was surprising my fiance with the watch and there are a lot of nice Rolex's. I wasn't sure exactly which one he wanted (although I did pick the right one!) and in case he wants to upgrade in the future he can!

i got dh a rolex at an authorized dealer on 57th street and 6th ave. if u want further information, fm me.
i did not pay full price for his rolex- got him an air king.

We ended up getting his Rolex while on our honeymoon in St. Lucia. Priced it here and it was $3000 more.

Wow, maybe we should wait until we go on our honeymoon then. I hope they have them at the carribean islands we are going too. That's a great savings...

They are very expensive but from what i'm told, they last forever. My mom use to get an awesome discount but then they started cracking down because employees were abusing the discount. But she does get one for every 10 yrs of service, and she is coming up on 20

Yeah, he always wanted one and we saw it there and knew how much it was back in the states. Also, it's duty free. We took that into account in our $3k savings.

It was his b-day gift since it was his b-day on our honeymoon. We didn't exchange wedding or engagement gifts. Well, I got a ring..:

eta: also, we had to negotiate but I had no problem with that. It's the real deal too, appraised by a rolex dealer here.
