Rolling Coins

I sat this morning & rolled $47.00 in coins and I have SOOOOO much more to do, several hundred dollars worth. I hate doing this, and coinstar takes 10%, any other suggestions?

Re: Rolling Coins

Sorry... I don't know.

Get some wine, some snacks and continue rolling!

I have tons of coins too, I cannot get myself to roll them though!

Re: Rolling Coins

They have those machines that you can buy at staples or places like that that sorts the coins and drops them into seperate marked compartments that are the size of the coin roll papers.

I think they are around $20-25, not too sure though.

Or do what OctBride says - get a beverage and put a good movie on TV and the time will fly.

We save change too and it paid for most of our out of pocket spending on the HM.

Re: Rolling Coins

I invested in one of those coin rolling machines...they arent too expensive. I also bought the rolls that fit in the machine. My husband and I had a plastic water cooler bottle that was over 1/2 full and we rolled about $1500. I was not going to roll that by hand.

Now we still use the machine but instead of thowing our coins in a bucket, we throw it right in the machine and as the rolls are full, I keep them aside and then bring it to the bank. We keep that money aside and use it to buy something we both want.

My bank doesnt charge to bring in change. If yours does...then maybe you can check your local deli. They have to pay for change from the bank so they might be willing to take some rolls from you.

Good Luck!

Re: Rolling Coins

We bought our own machine at Brookstone. It was $35 but totally worth it, since we had over $100 in change just sitting around. I definitely recommend it!

Re: Rolling Coins

we have a huge bucket filled with coins, mostly pennies and they are such a pain to roll. our coin machine broke and we've been too swamped to go to staples and get a new one. But now that I think about it, we really should go and get those coins wrapped and placed into the bank account

Re: Rolling Coins

My bank has bags that they give you, but they are for quarters only. You just throw all of them into the bag and they weigh it to see how much $$.

Re: Rolling Coins

The bank I belong to now has a machine, where you put your change in, and you get a reciet, and you can cash it, or deposit into your account. They do NOT take any $$ from you like coinstar.
You do not have to roll any coins.

Re: Rolling Coins

My bank let me deposit them in my account. I wish I had that machine you guys were talking about. Would have saved my hands from the stench!
