Rolling Over Question

I have tried looking this in up in my books but I can't seem to find it -
My O. Catherine is just about to roll over however, I am concerned then about (Won't she be sleeping on her tummy?) which is a no no?
This whole week she has begun to sleep on her side - I'm assuming this means she will make another turn on the her Tum tum (I guess)
Is this nothing to be worried about?
I am very concerned about SIDS and therefore, am curious -
She is 41/2 months and is still at risk -
Thanks for your help!!!

Re: Rolling Over Question

Well congrats on almost rolling over!!! Its a big step!

I asked my ped about this when Emma just started to roll. He said to put her to sleep on her back like I normally would and if she rolled over onto her stomach than she would be fine and to leave her thats the way she wants to be. Make sure her arms are in front of her when she is on her side so it helps keep her on her side/back. If really nervous about it ask your ped.

Re: Rolling Over Question

Many parents worry when their child starts rolling over at night, but once infants reach this stage of development, they are generally no longer at risk for SIDS. You don't have to keep rolling her back over, but do talk to your pediatrician to make sure your child doesn't have any other risk factors for SIDS. Also, avoid putting anything in the crib -- such as blankets or stuffed toys -- that she can roll onto.

Re: Rolling Over Question

Not sure, but I think they sell something to prevent rolling over. It might just be for very small infants thoughs.
