Re: Roman catholic mass readings and whatnot

OK, this is not set in stone but so far we have picked....old Testament: Love is Strong as Death, New Testement: The Greatest of These is Love, gospel: Two Become One Body. Songs: Unity Candle: Ava Marie (future father in laws request) and my sister (& MOH) will be singing I Will (beattles). Thats what we have so far....but this weekend my cousin got married and used the same readins and Ava Marie!! I couldn't believe it, I felt like I was at my wedding!

Re: Roman catholic mass readings and whatnot

We are having a ceremony only so we aren't using a bible reading but we are doing the 'blessing of the hands' reading.

New International Version
COLOSSIANS - CHAPTER 3
12. Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
13. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
14. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
15. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

ECCLESIASTES - CHAPTER 4
9. Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work.
10. If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no-one to help him up!
11. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?
12. Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to John 15:9-12
Jesus said to the disciples,
'As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you;
abide in my love.
If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love,
just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.

These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.

This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.'
This is the Gospel of the Lord
