Romance... On Long Island?!?!?!?!

Romance... On Long Island?!?!?!?!

So now FH and I are talking about maybe just staying local for a mini-moon since we are getting married late fall and weather may be unpredictable for flying, and we would only have a few nights anyway and we don't want to spend it all travelling.

So, have you stayed anywhere romantic on Long Island??? Tell me about it, please! We are open to anywhere on LI, from Eastern Suffolk/the Hamptons all the way out to anywhere in Nassau County...maybe someplace with a great spa, or fireplaces or hot tub in the room????

Add in any additional ideas for romantic things to do (besides the obvious...lol) and I will love you even moreeee!

What about a bed and breakfast? We stayed at the Woolverton Inn in NJ, and NOTHING compares to this place. Absolutely romantic and so beautiful, relaxing and just what any couple needs. We stayed in a private cottage, no TV's and it was the perfect gift! I plan to stay there on our year mark!

How about in the city!?

I was thinking about a B&B and a private cottage would be excellent, but I feel like in a regular B&B sometimes the walls can be a little thin.... and well.. yea lol... I will see how far away that one you stayed in is!!!

ETA: OMG that place is AMAZZZZZZING and exactly what I was looking for!!! Wondering if I can convince FH to drive a little farther lol... or if anything like this exists on LI!!!!!

And I prefer not the city for a bunch of reasons (I am a little city phobic) but also it seems more hectic than relaxing/romantic to me!

You are not near ANYONE in the cottages, so bark, yell, scream - its all between you and him =)) Hunnie, I am not exaggerating or anything - that place is my favorite!!! We have been B&B wh0ring around and that place is number 1! It took us about an hour from Brooklyn to get there. AND about 2 mintues away its New Hope, PA and its GORGEOUS there!! So highly recommended. The food is OUT OF THIS WORLD, and the COOKIES OMG!!!!

Really really nice. Double showers, mini fridge so we brought our own sangira, and goodies. Tell them its your honeymoon, they may throw some things in there. Everything was great!

Mohonk Mountain House is also really beautiful/relaxing.. Its in New Paltz though, so its another farther place to consider... On the closer end, maybe check into: The Baker House or Mill House in the Hamptons.

Thanks girls! I do love mohonk, we stayed there once when I was younger... but I would not plan on trying to get up that mountain in a potentially snowy time of year in FH's little car lol. I will definitely check out all these other options!!! TY! <3

It's in PA but Caesars Resort in the Poconos
Used to be called (beautiful) Mount Airy Loddddddddge!

FH and I stayed there once in April. We went horseback riding, ice skating, did archery. The room had a private indoor pool, a jacuzzi, no windows. We loved it!

You have to check out ocean place resort. It's in NJ but gorgeous! Get an ocean view room with a balcony and sit out there wrapped in a blanket. Heaven! Get couples massage - their spa is incredible! You won't want to leave. Their food is great too. We've been there a few times - waking up to the sight of the ocean is therapeutic especially if you had a massage the night before. Oh boy I wanna go now lol even if to just sit in the lobby and listen to the fountain.

The Woolverton looks AMAZING! We're planning on getting married in October and can't go away for our honeymoon right away because I'm a teacher and so we were thinking of doing a mini getaway and I think this is it! And love the fact that you can make as much noise as you want (LOL)!!

Thanks!!!

It is amazing and nothing short of that!!! The fall and winter season is their prime time. I wish we had went during that time, but my FH surprised me and took me there during July. It's still beautiful, but I am sure the fall scenary is to die for. I HIGHLY recommend this place!!!! JUST GORGEOUS!!!! And as I told the fellow 2012 bride, its just little 2 minute drive to New Hope, PA. Such a cute little area filled with restaurants, desserts, anything really. I can't comment enough on this place!

You should check out Buttermilk Falls Bed and Breakfast . It is in upstate NY about 2 hours or so from Nassau County. All the rooms have fire place. There is a spa, a pool, and a restaurant. Breakfast and afternoon tea is include. You are also no far from the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) where you can have a fabulous dinner if you make reservations a head of time.

Re: Romance... On Long Island?!?!?!?!

Dammit~!!!! I am going to the CIA in three weeks for a cake baking class!!!! I wish I would have known this sooner. We looked for some B&B's but didn't like any of them that we had seen.

We already booked our stay at a nearby hotel.
