Re: Romantic Hotel/B&B suggestions in NE?
We've actually decided to get married at a country inn in NE, and have been to a lot. This is our favorite (the web site doesn't do it justice):
Wake Robin Inn
It's in the Berkshires, a little less than 2 hours from the Whitestone Bridge. It's 2 minutes down the road from the Main St. of Lakeville, which has a bunch of cute restaurants, antique shops, and stores.
We've stayed at the Deacon Timothy Pratt B&B in Old Saybrook, CT. It was nice, and in the cutest little CT town right on the L.I. Sound. There's an old-time ice cream parlor on the premeses, but I'm not sure if it's open in the winter. Anyway, it was very charming and romantic. And all the rooms have jaccuzis! : Deacon Timothy Pratt
I also second the Mohonk Mountain House recommendation, although it's a full-service resort (and since meals are included rooms are like $400 a night) and not a b&b, and I'm not sure which you're looking for.
