The Garden City Hotel is gorgeous.
It is now Monday and therefore if all went well which I'm sure it did...then you are married! CONGRATULATIUONS!!!!!!! You had a beautiful day and I am very happy for you! I hope the weather is as great for the rest of us, as it was for your special day. Hopefully you and your husband have a happy, relaxing and safe honeymoon!!!!
I stayed at the Garden City hotel the night before a friends wedding with her & she stayed her wedding night & was disapointed as well. This was last October. They promised things that were not done, so be cautious also about the room because she paided an insane amount of money & it was not spectacular.
hi everyone, well today is our 'reply by' date and we are still waiting to hear from 15 people (not bad out of 125). that isn't our biggest problem.. we guarenteed a minimum of 100, and taking into account that 20% usually decline, we invited 125. well, what we didn't take into account (which we really should have known), was that we are getting married the night of yom kippur.. oops! so we have about 30 people who can't come because they will be in temple (my fiance and i are non-religious and just didn't realize it when we booked the country club). anyway, those people along with people who can't come for other reasons has put us under our minimum by about 20. we had friends that we couldn't initially invite because we really can't afford to go over 100.. but now we are under. ug!!!!! so, my question is: has anyone else been in this situation and if so, what did you do? there are some people that i wouldn't feel funny about inviting on such short notice (they know that we are trying to keep this small and that because of family issues, a large portion of my family will not attend)... but is it too tacky to do this? my first instict is yes it is tacky.. but we are going to have to pay for these 20 meals anyway. ug! i'm going to the country club tonight to finalize the menu and will ask about what the procedures are for not meeting the minimum number of guests. sorry this is so long.. kinda stressing..and now i feel a cold coming on...ack! must not stress and get sick!!
