RONKONKOMA?

there is only one school district in ronkonkoma and that's sachem... the town next to it is smithtown and their district is very highly rated.

Actually there is more than one district. Part of Ronkonkoma goes to Connetquat district which is a good district.

Oh yeah I forgot that there is a small section that goes to Connetquot. Connetquot's district is OK, it is rated a little higher than Sachem. I always read up on the ratings, they are listed in Newsday and every six months to a year they are updated.

And the district in Smithtown is called Smithtown Central School District and they are consistently rated in the top three on Long Island, it usually comes in at number seven State-wide.

You can always check Newsday.com for more info if you'd like. And you can check any district on LI that you'd like, they have a lot of useful info.

oh, good luck house-hunting!! well, west islip is rated much higher than the districts in ronkonkoma so that's probably why they are higher there. usually, you pay more for a better district and in taxes too.

also, for house-hunting try this site, it's where i found my house!!

I live in sachem school district and attended sachem. Smithtown connetquot and sachem are all good districts. I would send my kids to any of them and Im a teacher.

Smithtown is WAYYYY more expensive house-wise and the taxes are crazy,

oh, yeah i have been there!! it was really hard. i had a house in miller place for a while and it was stressful trying to buy the condo i live in now and sell the house in miller place.
it will all work out!!

i live in the nesconset part of smithtown and my taxes are not that expensive. i pay around 6500 with the star program. you can find affordable houses in the nesconset part that goes to smithtown SD. i am a teacher too and i find that sachem has too many kids that i feel my kids would be too overwhelmed there, JMO.

Well it is average price for taxes on LI
