yes, i blocked mine at about 8 months. and actually some hotels were already booked!!

The earlier the better ........ a couple of places I called were already booked and this was 8 months ahead of time.

I would suggest doing this sooner rather than later. When I went to book mine my two best choices were all booked up. Now, I don't think I'm going to block anywhere. Everyone can find their own hotel.
