Re: Root Canal Two Weeks Before Wedding

I agree with everyone who says not to worry. I don't know if I'm blessed with the world's greatest dentist or just lucky but after my root canals, I had ZERO pain and no swelling.

When I had a tooth pulled, the injection site on my gum was sore for a few days and then it went *poof*.

You'll be fine!

Re: Root Canal Two Weeks Before Wedding

As a dentist (also getting married at the woodlands!!!) I agree with basically everything that has been said except DON'T put it off until after the wedding. You may develop an infection, pain and swelling...even if you are fine right now! You might experience pain since it sounds like the prob is a molar, but think of a rot canal as basically a filling for your root. Also, if the cavity is not yet in the root (just close to it), they can do it in one visit.

It sounds like you might lose a lot of tooth structure, but tell your dentist you want a temporary filling so they know not to start the crown prep until after your wedding.

Hth!

Re: Root Canal Two Weeks Before Wedding

Its really not that bad, just keep ice on the sides of your mouth for hours to prevent swelling and bruising. Good luck!
