I didn't think I needed a coordinator for the day of, and it was actually my sweet FH who asked that we look into it to alleviate some stress on me and my parents on the day of.... but we met with Rosalie yesterday morning and I have to say I think this is the best money we will have spent on the wedding! I already feel better and like things are more under control.... just thought i'd share -- it feels good to have a productive weekend :)

The moment you sign the contract to have her as DOC, you immediately feel less stressed! I LOVE Rosalie! She's such a sweetheart - and I know she'll do everything she can to make the day PERFECT and stress free!

I still have to meet with her. I'll most likely do it next week, since I have off. After all I've heard about her, and her price, I have nothing lose.

Re: Rosalie

What is the price?
And could someone please explain the purpose of a day-of coordinator? I've heard a bunch of people mention it....is it mostly to handle last-minute emergencies?
I feel like I will have everything pretty well organized by then, but I don't want to have to stress on that day.
I'd be interested to hear people's reasoning and what specifically she does once everything's been planned.
Thanks so much for the info!!!

Re: Rosalie
Carrie Ann,I didn't think I needed a DOC either because I'm on top of the planning and figured everything will run smoothly. Rosalie's job is to make sure that all of our careful planning is executed properly. She calls vendors to confirm so we don't have to. She spot checks the reception room and makes sure that all the tables have the right number of place settings and chairs and the right color linens. She helps with the rehearsal and prompts people when it's time to walk down the aisle. She makes sure the guys' boutinnaires are in the right spot, etc.. She touches up makeup and makes sure your gown is fluffed and looks pretty befre the photographer takes the pictures. She has a huge emergency kit with thread, bandaids, etc.. She hands out tips to the vendors at the end of the night and is the last person to leave the reception so that she can check and make sure no one left behind anything. I sort of felt like I was buying insurance because she's there to make sure that all our little touches and behind the scenes stuff happens effortlessly.
Send her a FM for pricing and more info, but I really feel a million times better now that I have her on my side. She's a real sweetheart and reasonable.
Good luck!
Jennifer

well put! Rosalie is a sweetheart... and so down to earth. After meeting her, I almost felt bad that I was 'hiring' her! I wanted to INVITE her to my wedding! Carrie... you mentioned you want the day to be stress-free... I know that if I didn't hire Rosalie, I would have been a wreck - along with my mom - alllllll day. I didn't want to spend thousands and thousands of dollars for the wedding... only to not enjoy it due to stressing and worrying. I know now that my mom and I will RELAX and enjoy our wedding day with Rosalie there! WELL worth the extra $$! (and she's setting up my candy buffet for me, which I was going to hire someone to do, so I'm even saving $$ there!).

She's the best kind of DOC... she's a caring perfectionist who is on YOUR side!

honestly, i am starting to feel that way also. my sister was the one who brought it to my attention (jennandphil) b/c i knew there were coordinators for weddings but i didn't know that there were ONLY DOC until my sister said so! once i realized that i said to myself that it would probably be worth it-- a small price to pay for peace of mind.
i'm very organized so i would not need a coordinator for the whole wedding but there are a lot of personal touches i want to add to my wedding that require setting up and other things like that-- i just dont have the time or patience to run to my hall at 7am and set up menu cards on each person's place setting b/c i'm not having my hall do it and so the hall won't set it up for me. it's things like that and if for some reason there were a day wedding that day booked i would have to go (in gown mind you lol) in between the church and the reception and set up 225 menu cards in the napkins hahaha, i can't imagine doing this!!! and it's things like that (there are others) that i dont want to exclude from my wedding so luckily there are people like rosalie for that!!!!
so i'm almost positive i'm going to do it-- i have my sister to thank big time and all the LIW girls for bringing the importance of a DOC to my attention.... and i'll just have to learn how to ignore my FMIL's nasty comments about it, GREAT!!!!
she is insane btw lol
