rose petals?

i need to get rose petals for guest to throw at us as well as for the aisle - do the freeze dried petals look bad? should i go w/ fresh petals - as long as crest hollow allows it?

Go with fresh. You can get them cheap with your florist, sometimes ever FREE... that is if you purchase all your bo-k's from them...

I am checking into the same thing..I am having a sample sent from www.rosepetalseverywhere.com..theya re freeze dried but supposedly look fresh. But I havent been to my florist yet to see what they have.

if need be, go to a supermarket or one of those street vendor guys the night before or so and get roses, then have fun 'he loves me, he loves not'-ing and voila - pedals for your guests!!

I will let you know how they are..just ordered them..so give me afew days..I like the idea of going to a supermarket the night before..could probably get them very cheap..but I am too anal..I need to know for sure that Ill have them for my wedding. I am going to call my florist as well and see what they say about prices..what I gathered from rosepetalseverywhere is that 1 box covers 30 people...one box is 40 bucks..so if i have 80 people I need 3 boxes..so its 120 for the petals..Iwonder if a florist could do it cheaper. I am going to call them right now

I just called the,...decbride 2004 was absolutely right.. with my florist..if I supply the basket..the petals for about 8- people would only be 40 bucks..I was going to pay 120..YEA!!! Im so happy!! She also said that usualy if we are using them for bouquets, etc, they will throw the petals in for free. I havent met with them yet because I still have a few months to deal with that..but that sounds REALLY good!! I will still let you know about teh freeze dried if youd like, but you may be better off going with a florist..even if you dont use them for bouquets..they are MUCH cheaper than ordering them online. Let me know what you decide.

how long will the fresh petals last? i want to put the petals in these little bags made of tulles that the guests will take to throw at us but i don't want to wait till the last minute to put the petals in the bag and tie it with the ribbon. is it possible that these petals last for a few days?

Thats what I want to do..they have little doilie things to put the petals in..but if I can save 80 bucks by doing it through the florist..I may just get a basket and fill it up..have my nephews stand by the door and tell people to grab a handful..realistically, people are going to throw them and be done with them..and although the doilie touch is nicer...I think it will be fine to just have them in a basket. But maybe call the florist and ask how long they last..my guess is probably not to long..but I really dont know. It is just so much cheaper..I was going to pay 125, plus shipping and now I may get that free...so that sounds good to me!!!
