I rememebr reading somewhere that dogs who eat their poop ight be doing it because they are lacking some kind of nutrients in thier food. Not sure if that's the case or not, but what type of food do you feed her? Also, have you tried asking your vet about this? I know they sell pills that make the poop taste bad (well, worse then poop anyway!) and that supposedly deters them from eating it... Sorry to hear that, I can't believe dogs LIKE that!!!

Re: Rotty Owners
Actually when I got her she was very sick and I didn't want to just give her back so I brought her to the vet and found out that she was anemic! The vet gave me some nasty liquid to put on her food and it helped, when I took her back for her follow up blood test she tested perfectly. I feed her either purina one or iams i cant remember, I just know it is a yellow bag. I got some other stuff to put on my cats food so that my dog wont eat out of the litter box but then my cat wont eat. She has finally stoppped eating her own and the other dogs but the cat she still goes for.

Re: Rotty Owners
Our dog ate out of the cats litterbox and got very very sick. He needed IV fluids and some stomach drugs. It was not a pleasant experience. If we had used clumping litter the vet said he might have needed surgery! So just watch your puppy around the litter. If Rodney did it again we were going to spend the money for the automatic boxes, but he's been scared to try it again.

Asia's never eaten her own, but I've caught her a time or two trying to nibble someone else's! She got in BIG trouble for that! So, she learned not to eat it....but she still has her fun....now she ROLLS in it. So, we have to be VERY careful and quick on our toes when we walk her

Bailey used to eat her own when she was a puppy. We scolded her and had to watch her for quite awhile when she would go out to go potty.
This is a MAJOR no no...it's how dogs get worms (not heartworms, the intestinal kind)..by being around infected poo, so DO NOT let your dog eat their own or any other dogs!
