Re: Royalton Brides
hey! They have flat screens in the bridal suite and grooms room. He also had a lot of pictures to show, two albums that were made and a slide show. It just looks great! They seriously must do those floors all the time because they don't even look like they were walked on. The room was set up for 240 and it looked roomy enough. The cocktail room had a little bit of a different set up, with only one couch and more tables, I think because there was a girl there who was concerned about the size. I seriously started tearing up in the ballroom, the place is amazing! I think Gerard said he wanted us to come in around mid-October to do the tasting. You're getting so close Tara!! How's the dress, did it come in yet?

Hey Royalton Brides-
Just wondering if you have gone to either of the 2 recommended florists yet? Do you have any ideas for centerpieces yet?

I'm curious about the 2 florists too. Both called my FH last week...we haven't even started to think about flowers yet!

Yea we got the calls in the beginning too. I only met with Spitz and Peck in Cedarhurst. If you go there, ask for Maddie, she was very helpful in dealing with our budget.

I met with Josh at Stefans and Maddie at Spitz and Peck. I decided to go with Stefans because I thought he was listening and 'getting' what I wanted better. Plus he gave us a typed up itemized list of what we discussed even before we booked them. I was just more comfortable that I would be getting what I asked for because of that. Both were ready to work within my budget and were accommodating though. It was a tough decision.

Thank you both for the advise on the Florists. Makes me feel a lot better knowing they are both good options.

I had the exact same experience--Stefans gave me an itemized list (I asked for it from both but only got it from Stefans) and that allowed me to choose how to use my budget best. I can't wait to meet with them soon to finalize everything!

Re: Royalton Brides
Ok Royalton Brides to be... I have some bad news.
Here goes.. and be warned...
I saw a post on here awhile back about the bartenders at the Royalton. Someone had said that they were basically cutting anyone off that looked even the slightest bit tipsy at a wedding in July or August. They were also limiting the number of drinks a guest could get at the bar and bring back to their seats. A few people had been put off...Here's the post for you guys all to take a look at. 'Royalton Feedback Greatly appreciated' --its written by Felicita---- This is the text of her post:
'Okay, Royalton brides...I have some off-putting news to share about the Royalton.
A friend of mine went to a wedding there this past weekend and had some interesting things to share. The good news is that he thought almost everything was wonderful (food, layout, etc). The one big problem he had was with the bartenders and the bar.
He said that the bartenders at the main bar during the cocktail area were really rude and not only to the younger folks, but to the older folks too. I remember Gerard said that they don't have 'kids' bartending - only professionals. Well, professionals is one thing, but being jerks is another. My friend told me that they reminded him of off-duty cops - complaning about how many drinks you ordered, telling people they couldnt get their drinks there, and just being very unpleasant.
He said that they actually started cutting people off at even the slightest hint they were a little typsy. I've never heard of such a thing at a wedding. Granted, I don't want everyone getting drunk at my wedding, but I want people to feel comfortable drinking and having a little fun if they want to.
This was so disappointing to hear.
I'm definitely going to talk to Gerard about it. Hopefully, it's something that we'll have time to avoid.'
Secondly-- I recently spoke with a photographer we were interested in--which was a whole other thing written about on another board. .... ( I overheard one of their young lead photographers say something EXTREMELY negative about my future mother in law).---but I spoke with some of the photographers there who had shot a wedding recently. The good news is, that they said it was gorgeous for photos--the bad news is... that they had nothing good to say about the bartenders AGAIN. They had said that they were actually CARDING people at the bar. And not people that looked like they were young, but people that were 35 and older--to restrict the number of drinks (and the amount of alcohol) they served.
I would (and will) absolutely take this up with Michael and Gerard before we get married there in March. While I know they have a liquor liscense to perserve-- WHO EVER HEARD OF CARDING PEOPLE AT A WEDDING????

Re: Royalton Brides
Hi all. I'm the one who posted the original story about the Royalton and I'm so very disappointed to hear another story about this bartending situation.
Another member of the board told me she would ask Gerard about it (she's getting married this November) and I encouraged her to tell us all what she hears back.
If you guys also ask about this, please let us know what the response is.
