Royalton Brides -- Spitz & Peck v. Stefans

can anyone give me an idea of how much the flowers cost for the Royalton using either of these vendors. I hear they are super expensive but they have worked with the Royalton brides and their budget. How much am I looking to spend if I do tall centerpieces on every other table?

Re: Royalton Brides -- Spitz & Peck v. Stefans

It depends on what type of flowers. I gave Spitz and Peck a budget and they went 1K over it.

Re: Royalton Brides -- Spitz & Peck v. Stefans

I went to both Stefan's and Spitz and Peck- Spitz and Peck was just too expensive and I wasn't happy at all with the way DH and I were treated at Stefan's also we saw a sample centerpiece and the flowers were all wilted.
I asked them when they did the CP - they had said 9am that morning- we had a 12 noon appointment.

I also asked if the quality of the flowers I saw in the sample CP were the same as I would be getting and he (the florist) had told me yes- that was just a turn off.

Re: Royalton Brides -- Spitz & Peck v. Stefans

Ok I must say this! Spitz & Peck got my # somehow and they have called me practially everyday for weeks (they leave messages on VM bc my phone is off at work).

IMO any florist who has nothing to do put call this frequebtly must have a problem booking! Sorry they just annoy me lol

I had a bad experience with Stefans and would not recommend them. Please read my review for details. I know your choices are limited, but try to stay away if you can! Good luck!

My flowers were fine - it was the service that I was very unhappy with.

Re: Royalton Brides -- Spitz & Peck v. Stefans

My daughter got married at the Royalton and after going to both Stefans and S&P we went with S&P. People are still talking about the flowers. They really were beautiful. You can look in my album for some pics. FM me if you have more personal questions.

Re: Royalton Brides -- Spitz & Peck v. Stefans

Whichever you go with - just be prepared for the people that setup the flowers on the day to hustle a tip of you...and so will the Matire'D at the Royalton stating 'you're supposed to tip the guys a little something...$100 - $200.'

I have two stories, one for Stefans at The Royalton, and the second with S&P at The Water's Edge....both approached the parents of the bride and coordinator to make sure 'they took care of the guys setting up.'

Otherwise...their work is fantastic, and it's helpful to meet with both and compare apples to apples (or roses to roses) to get an idea of who you're more comfortable with.

OMG...Just read your review....and this is the EXACT situation that happened twice...once with Stefans, and the other with S&P...I'm convinced theyr'e owned by the same person...always hustling family members on the day of the wedding to 'take care of the guys!'

A florist SHOULD NOT be tipped on the day of...only the person delivering personals to the house...and if you built a great relationship with the owner/person you're working with - send them something AFTER the wedding like a bottle of wine...but never $100 - $200 for setting up in the room!

Re: Royalton Brides -- Spitz & Peck v. Stefans

Why shouldn't the men who work for the florist get tipped? I understand that the owners themselves are already taken care of, but I'd rather tip workers who come in with stands, candles, chuppas( in my case), and are putting the whole thing together, than someone dropping off personals to my house.

This is their job and they are hired specifically for set-up, and 99.9% of the time - these fees are included in the service fee as part of your contract - either built into the price, or separated out on an individual line.

Why tip someone for doing what they have to do? Would you rather the men come in and put everything down on the floor, and then you bring someone else in to set everything up?

Re: Royalton Brides -- Spitz & Peck v. Stefans

I do NOT recommend Stefans...they are rude. I merely asked a question about seeing another sample and they hung up on me.

THat is NOT good customer service. I'm not by far a demanding bride at all! Brides can't ask questions? If you can't do it, you can't do it. I was so upset afterwards!

Re: Royalton Brides -- Spitz & Peck v. Stefans

I'm sure there are workers who put flowers on tables and leave, and others who really go the extra mile! Sorry but I feel they should be tipped if they go the extra mile! If you don't want to tip its your choice, and no one can force you, but I think its the right thing to do!

Yes, but if you read my review you will see that we were sort if hustled into a good tip for them - he brought something we didnt even want and told my mom if we 'take care of his boys' he would not charge is for the flowers we DID NOT WANT and then he went to my dad and siad you owe me $150 for the flowers we DID NOT WANT. So I feel like he hustled us into paying for the flowers and giving a good tip. On the day of you are just so busy you dont have time to think and we only realized it all later. That is not good business to me!

You also are not 'supposed' to see your flowers being set-up on the day of....logistically, the flowers should be set up in the venue without you seeing them...so when would be the 'appropriate' time to tip them?

Re: Royalton Brides -- Spitz & Peck v. Stefans

Stefans did the flowers for my wedding and they were nothing short of spectacular! Josh was amazing to work with-----after reading all of the reviews on here about how they arent that great, I got nervous!!!! I called Josh a million times to ensure that my flowers would be perfect and it would be exactly what I wanted------he was accomodating and soothing EVERY TIME!!!!
The day of-----AMAZING! Flowers were fuller and more beautiful then I expected-----nobody haggled for a tip! Josh personally delivered my flowers just to make sure it was perfect!! Both Josh and Chris, the owner, came to the Royalton during the cocktail hour just to make sure everything was to our liking----saying that they still had an hour and a half until guest s came in so they could change anything at all! IT was all so perfect! They were probably one of my favorite vendors!!!!!
Lesson learned-----don't take all of these negative things too seriously----as long as you stay on top of your vendors and have a good feeling and faith, it'll all work out!

I am glad that you had a good experience with them - I wish nothing but the best for all brides. I however learned another lesson my wedding day - you can do tons of research on vendors and pick the one you have the most faith in, but that does not mean they will pull through for you on your wedding day! And my situation had nothing to do with the flowers not being to my liking - it was their service that I has an issue with. My ceremony started late because the chuppa they put together fell down. That is not something that had you could have controlled - no matter how on top of them you were! So the lesson I learned is some things are out of your control and you just have to hope for the best on your day. That being said, there are vendors that some people have great experiences with and some have horrible ones. I say find out for yourself and trust your gut and hope that it is right. I just like to share my experiences to hope that they can help a future bride not repeat the same mistakes I made.
