For all my Royalton brides...I went to go look at invitations yesterday and now I'm trying to decide how many inserts I ABSOLUTELY need. Does the Royalton give you direction cards to put in your invitations? If so, anyone have a picture of what they look like? Also, correct me if I'm wrong, the Royalton does not make our menus, we do them ourselves? Last, does the Royalton provide table numbers or do we do those ourselves as well? If you have any picturse of table numbers or menus I would love to see them! Thanks for all your help!

Re: Royalton Questions
I havent gotten married there yet so I dont have any pictures, but they do provide direction cards and i believe they provide table numbers also. You definately have to do your own menu's b/c i'm working on those now :)

The direction cards are nice, they are ivory, they do not provide menus. I believe they do table numbers. I think most places do, people just want fancier ones.

I know they don't do menus...they do provide table numbers and you have a choice of gold or silver frames. They were pretty simple and classy looking.

Re: Royalton Questions
Hey Girls - When did you or are you planning to discuss things like table linens and the frames on the table numbers with the Royalton? We went for our menu planning and tasting appointments a few weeks ago and Gerard kinda made it seem like we were done and now I'm realizing I still need to discuss a few more things with him!!
Also, on the placecards, is everyone having them caligraphered by a company or just printing them at home on the computer? I'm planning on using a company called Inkspun which charges 39cents a card but curious what others are doing.
Thanks!!!

I just did mine today on the computer. Same thing Inkspun will charge you. It was pretty simple, used a template and just typed names and table numbers using Edwardian script font.
I'm getting married in less than two weeks, no one mentioned table numbers to me. and I believe the table cloths are standard, they use the ivory ones. I guess you could request another color but it really goes nice in the room.

Here is my cheapo little pointer... I looked into Calligraphy and it was insanely expensive!!! I did find some that weren't too bad in price but overall it was just an added expense.
So then I read somewhere that you can print the place cards out from a regular printer, then using a metallic marker go over the print and it looks like it was hand written. I think it would work best with a dark card and a silver or gold metallic marker. Also, if you print a dark ink on a dark paper then it won't show too much and people will never know what you did! You sneaky lil *******!! hahaha! So that's my plan for the place cards! Trickery!!!

Interesting. I guess I'll try to do it at home too. Where do you get the template? I'm so clueless with this stuff.

Re: Royalton Questions
it depends on the cards you buy and the size. If you buy from Michaels or AC Moore you can probably find the template at www.gatnerstudios.com. I bought bigger more generic ones and I found it at Avery's web site.
It's really not hard to find it. They are pretty generic. If you need help after you purchase them, contact me.

Re: Royalton Questions
Hey Everyone!
I really need help! I am torn between The Royalton and the Crystal Plaza in New Jersey. Both places are stunning however I have been to a wedding at crystal and my FH has been as well. They have amazing food and service. I dont know anything about this place just that it is beautiful. Has anyone tried the food or know if there is enough of it?
Thanks!!!!

Re: Royalton Questions
what specific questions do you want answered. I have never heard of the place in Jersey. The Royalton's food is amazing, you create your own menus, they don't have set things you have to choose from. We tasted about 5 different steaks till we found the one that we wanted on our menu, they even had us come back a second time and got steak from a different vendor for us (we are very selective with steak)
They will pretty much make you any cake you want. Viennese tables are included.
The ballroom is beautiful. Service is suppose to be good. (i'm getting married this weekend so I will find out) We have 1 waiter per table, 1 hostess per 2 tables and 1 bus boy per 2 tables.
You can spend the night in the bridal suite. You have the entire mansion to yourself. The bridal suite, grooms suite and parent's suite are all large and very comfortable.

Are you spending the night? I can't decide. Allegra spent the night. She liked it.
And YES the service was excellent!!!!

If you spend the night, what time do you have to be out by?
I think I am kind of the exception on here in that we are not doing the evening wedding slot - we're doing the daytime wedding slot. So I don't have the option to stay over.. but it does puzzle me a bit - how it's going to work out with the couple from Friday night getting out in time for us to be able to get ready on Saturday morning. And when the Saturday night people are allowed to come to the place to get ready (like while our wedding is still going on??) I just hope it doesnt turn into a bad situation. I guess that's my only main concern about the place as a whole.
Daytime just worked better for us, since a lot of people have young children (like my dad and stepmom) so a night wedding wouldn't work. And also we wouldn't be able to meet the large guarantee either. !

We had a Friday night wedding and spent the night. We had to be out by 10 am. They tell you the time you have to be out the week of, it all depends on what they have booked the next day. I have no idea how it works with two Saturday brides. I didn't realize they do 2 weddings on a Saturday....You would need to ask them specifically about that.

Yea, ideally they want to have 2 Saturday and 2 Sunday weddings. I originally wanted to book Sunday b/c I thuoght there was less chance of their being 2 parties the same day, but the pp price was $20 higher pp on Sunday, so we decided to go with the Saturday.
Our invite will be at 11 am, so I would think that people would have to leave by at least 10 am. We will probably even get there around 9 or so to get ready. They said that they tell the nighttime bride she can get there after 5 pm (mine ends at 5 pm), but they can't control for people coming earlier. I just had read a review on here from like 2 years ago or so, where the nighttime bride (reviewer) said that she and her girls were walking thru the lobby in their sweatpants to get ready, while the daytime reception was still going on. that kinda bothered me! but hopefully that won't happen.
