ROYALTON TASTING DONE!!

Hey ladies! We must all be really busy because the number of posts has seriously dwindled in the past month or so.

Anyway, I had my tasting this week and for those of you who have not tasted the Royalton food yet, believe the hype! It is amazing. We had two salads, a chicken dish, a steak dish, a veal chop and a fish. And we had two professional chefs and a bunch of foodies with us and we were all blown away.

As always, Gerard and the whole crew at the Royalton made us feel right at home. I am so excited now for the wedding!!!

Re: ROYALTON TASTING DONE!!

I was away last week and the week before as well. Part of the trip included stopping at my home in LI and me, FH, my mom, my dad, and my stepmom (quite the crew!) went to our tasting at The Royalton! My date is quite a ways off, but we did a contract that was conditional upon tasting, and this was the first date we were able to all be there. It was also FH, my dad, and my stepmom's first time ever seeing the place, so that was super exciting as well. Let's just say.. IT'S ON!!!

Mike T. was there and gave everyone the full tour of the place. Unfortunately they were redoing the ballroom floors that day, so it was super smelly, but on the bright side, at least that means they are on top of the maintenance! We had our tasting in one of the rooms upstairs and it was all set up for us nicely when we arrived. We had the poached pear salad w/ goat cheese to start, and then for entrees they brought out a filet mignon w/ fingerling potatoes and julienne vegetables, swordfish in a pancoe breading with a beurre blanc sauce with veggies on a bed of risotto, and french cut rosemary chicken breast with mixed potatoes and veggies under it. Everything was really good! And me and FH are kind of 'foodies' so we are a tough crowd. The presentation was also really nice, professional, and the portions were HUGE! I don't know if it was just b/c of the tasting or if they are normally that huge but wow - we definitely won't be hungry (or thirsty!) the day of the wedding.

Anyway I just wanted to share b/c I haven't been on in a while and I am SUPER excited.

Also we met with an officiant while we were home - Rev. Deb Viola - and we really liked her and decided to book. .. Even though before we left, FH and I had an argument where he said he thought he only wanted to consider male officiants, and I told him he was being really close minded! He ended up really liking her and was really eating his foot that day, much to my enjoyment ;)

I'll be home again in a week, and I'm seeing samples at Stefans & S&P so that I can decide between the two... can't wait!!

Re: ROYALTON TASTING DONE!!

sorry, I have been so unproductive this summer I haven't even looked at the boards. I promised DH that after the wedding day no planning of anything over the summer.

I have to tell you the biggest hit of my wedding was the BBQ. I knew I did not want a carving station. We were having strip steaks for dinner (DH and I are big steakhouse eaters) and I never care for turkey, pork, etc. Mike T suggest we put the grill out on the patio and on the grill we had Baby Lamb Chops, Baby Back Ribs, and steak. The line was crazy. Everyone loved the fact that they could have as many lamb chops as they wanted without having to wait for the pass arounds. I highly recommend putting baby lamb chops somewhere more easily accessible then pass arounds.
