I am in the final stages of deciding on a place to have my wedding reception. I would REALLY love to have it at the Royalton and they have told me that they can accomodate up to 275 people, but then I have read other people's comments saying not to go over 200 people if you want to have it there. We will probably have between 230 and 250 people...is the Royalton too small for us???? Will the dance floor be too small??? Please help!!!

They told us the same thing... I can't picture 275 fitting comfortably, but I think you should be fine with 230.

I responded to the other post with the same concern, but wanted to add that what I heard was that the crowding was a big problem not just on the dance floor, but at the cocktail hour.

When we went to drop off our deposit they were setting up the room for a party of over 200 and it didn't look crowded at all. Of course that was just looking at the tables with no people. But it didn't look like it would be tight.
It made me really nervous that our party will look empty - we are only expecting 130. But they assured me they would put less people to a table and spread out to fill the room.
Maybe you can ask them if you can call you to see the room set up if there is a party coming up soon with a similar # of guests?

I wanted to have my wedding there as well and didn't because of this reason. Am inviting 280 and hope to have around 225 - 250 but I just felt it was too small! The dance floor gets smaller the more tables they have to put out.
