Do you think black is a bad color for BM for a July wedding??? I am having a some problems deciding.... and 3 of them are trying to get pregnant... two live out of state... I figured they could just get their own little black dress and call it a day.... black was the only color that I could think of that I didnt have to worry about shades... Ceremony starts @ 6:30 What do you ladies think???????

I don't see anything wrong with picking black if that's the color that you want. However, you are definitely going to have to worry about everyone matching. There are going to be different shades of black especially if everyone is not getting the same material. Also, it's probably going to be really hot to wear black in July. JMO.

I dont think it's bad if you pair it with another bright color like pink or blue or green ...but do what u want to do ... don't do a color because it is convenient for other people ...that's just my opinion

I think it's fine. I wore black and white for a wedding this past April. They might get a little warm if there's a lot of outside things to do but otherwise I think it's a great idea!
ETA: just decide it the dresses are going to be the same length or not and if so which one.

black for a wedding is great... it will prolly make them all very happy to be able to choose something they are totally comfy in! awsome sweet bride, ur bm's are lucky !! make sure the flowers pop thats my only suggestion

I know a lot of girls don't like it, but I think black is a color you can pull off all year round.
Also, as a tip ... you can go to a department store, or something like JCrew, Ann Taylor, etc ... and pick a dress from there and have all the girls get the same dress. It leaves it in their hands, and with stores like that you don't have to worry about the dye batch - and they can usually apply store discounts to these purchases. My girls are wearing Ann Taylor dresses and have gotten 20-40% off the dresses through coupons and signing up for the credit card.

i think black dresses are really elegant. a friend of mine did that for her october wedding and paired it with sunflower bo-k. so stunning. i think it's fine for august to - just be sure to keep flowers simple (white or red) or make a statement with either bright colored flowers or unique flowers (orchids?). use the black as a blank canvas.

I agree. I think black is fine! For my BF wedding in April we all wore black tea length dresses. They were strapless with a rhinestone belt buckle. Very Breakfast at Tiffany's, very elegant.

I was a bridesmaid in July and wore a tee length black dress. We actually had a single pink flower (her accent color) on the hips of all the bridesmaids. Everyone said it was classy and at the same time summery (is that even a word?) with the pink flowers!!!

there are shades of black...
bluish tint, orange-red tint...you don't normally notice it...but once together, you do. same with white.
