Did you mean to say 'invite you to share in THEIR joy?'

Looks good. Just a few changes:

1. Your names should be as follows, with optional text in brackets.

[Miss/Ms.] Bride'sFirstName [Bride'sMiddleName] Bride'sLastName

and

[Mr.] Groom'sFirstName [Groom'sMiddleName] Groom'sLastName

Either both or neither of you should use the honorific. Either both or neither of you should use your middle names.

(You may already know this and understandably didn't want to put your names on the Web.)

2. Your parents' names, assuming they are still married and they have the same last name: Mr. and Mrs. Bride'sFather'sFirstName Bride'sParents'LastName.

3. I was wondering why only the groom's mother is listed?

4. Remove the word 'adult.' Guests should glean who is invited and who isn't from the names on the inner envelope (or the outer, if not using inners). It is more polite to indicate who is included on the invitation (the names on the inner envelope) than to indicate who is excluded (no kids).

There may be posts in this thread which state the 'adult' portion is OK. I disagree with the notion, as has been implied in other posts on this board, that merely stating 'adult reception' squashes all dissent about children not being invited and prevents the couple from getting questioned about it.

If someone is determined on getting offended their children aren't invited, they're going to contact you anyway whining about the 'adult' indication on the invitation or you will learn of their dissatisfaction secondhand. So why not start off on the right foot and do the correct thing? I also disagree with the notion that because using 'adult reception' has become more common, it is OK.

Thanks for sharing your invitation.
