RP 08: Is it normal to not have people throw things outside of the church?

I realized not too long ago that I'm not allowed to have people throw anything at all outside of the church. I know that I could do bubbles, but it may be so cold outside and I don't know if that will effect them I also could do sparklers, since it may be getting dark when the service is over. But then I think about how many brides on here have said that they didn't even notice the bubbles/flower petels/etc. on their wedding day, or it didn't work out according to plan. And I also don't want people to have to stand outside in the cold for too long. Not to mention I only have 1 1/2 hours to take my pictures. I need some feedback. Should I just skip it all together? What do you do then? Do people just leave after the receiving line or do they just cheer or something when you come out????

I did bubbles. It was definitely orchestrated as far as getting a pic with them but it came out really cute (you can check out my profile-pic in there) and really wasn't a hassle. I think it would be pretty if you wanted to do it.

If it's going to be dusk or getting dark like you said tho, sparkler's would probably look really great. I think it would be something fun and different.

We didnt throw anything, the church did not allow it so we didnt. We did the receiving line, came out, took a group picture in front of the church and everyone went on their merry way. I know friends of mine did this, the candy rice and only the people closest to them threw it so it was almost pointless in their case, the picture came out horrible too.

I think its a personal choice, had they let us do it I might have done it but it was never an option for us

I'm not allowed to throw anything outside of my church, so it's not an option for us.

Most of the times I've blown bubbles at the end of the wedding, it's been on comfortable days (meaning not too hot or cold that you minded waiting out there). My brother didn't have anything after his wedding and no one seemed to noticed.

We'll probably just do the receiving line after the Mass, group picture in front of the church and then go eat.

Oh..and don't know if you're into it, but when we met with the priest at our church, he said we couldn't throw rice or bird seed or anything like that, but he's seen couples release doves if we wanted to do that. (Which we don't, but at least he gave us that option!)
