you can't force them to get along though. some people just don't mesh well.

you should try explaining that to your mom. And by the way, IMO, it was very childish for your brother to go running to your mom to complain about your DH.

Sounds like maybe you guys should spend more time together, to build a relationship. Maybe invite your brother and his wife out to dinner with you and DH. And maybe plan a day trip together to like great adventure or something. In order for them to form any type of relationship, they have to get together!! And if your brother was truly upset, than he should like the idea of getting together more often. Maybe plan a dinner out with your brother at least once a month. You have to start somewhere, where there aren't a lot of people around and you can all just talk!!
