we are planning on getting an apt first....houses are soooo $$$$ on Long Island.. but we plan to try and STAY HERE.. because all of our family and CLOSEST friends are here

I plan on staying in my Apartment at FIL house for a year or 2 then buying our first home.

thats what were doing. his parents are actually remodeling their house to make us an apartment so that we can save all our money for a down payment. id really love to live in europe for a year though.

We are buying a house at the moment in Island Park. We'll only be there for about 4 months before the wedding.

Very close friends of ours are living in an apt attached to groom's mom's house... and paying $500 in rent... so they are saving lots of money..... FH and I don't have that option for either of our family's houses...so it's a reasonable apt... then to a house...

we plan on saving up and buying a house here... we are currently living in a beautiful apt.! But hope to own a house in the next year or two!
