RP: BHB PLEASE HELP ME

Okay I just got photoshop and I have no clue how to use it. Funny right....
I am looking to make monograms. Can any of you wonderful ladies school me a bit on this?

Go under FILE >> click NEW...type in a size for your work area..i would type in about 6' x 6' or any other ratio you might like.

Make sure that you use 300 in the resolution box. 300dpi is optimal for printing and not getting jagged edges...since you are using PhotoShop..(tip: if you resize something BIGGER than the size you create it at you will lose 'detail' and quality of the print) Click OK...and your new work space will open.

Since you are doing a Monogram the Text tool is what you will be using. It is the 8th tool down on the right size that looks like a T.
Click in the work area and you will get a blinking cursor. Type whatever letter or name you want. (Tip: you will want to type each name or letter separately and on a different layer to make it easier to move them exactly how you would like. For example, type Iliana. Then click any other tool on the tool bar. Then select the Type tool, click on your work space and then type Fritz. Click another tool again, then click the Type tool and type out your date.

To change the color and font you must select the Text tool...then use it to highlight what you want, and select the font & color from the other toolbar across the top of your screen.

You must be on the correct layer to select the type you want. Go under WINDOW and select Layer...a small box will pop up that says Layers...you just click on the layer you want to move or select.

To move items you will use the Move tool...which is the First one on the top of the tool box on the Right...it is an arrow and then it looks kind of like a compass thing next to it. Hope this helps...good luck!
