RP: Black Forest Bakery- Raspberry Filling?

Has anyone had a cake from Black Forest Bakery with Raspberry filling?

I told him I wanted the kind of filling that they use in linzer tarts and cookies and he said it would be too tart and kinda thick for a cake filling and said that they use a 'raspberry fruit' filling instead.

I'm afraid its going to be that jelly like substance that COMPLETELY grosses me out. I DO NOT like fruit pie filling consistency it tastes like cough syrup

Anyway, before I go waste money on an entire cake just to see what its like, i thought I'd ask on here

thats annoying!!! a cake is included in my pacakge at my RH-- and i can choose from them or audreys in west sayville, im hoping to go soon to check both bakeries out-- ill post my review if i get a tasting...

i didnt see that your wedding is so soon!!! i prob wont be much help sorrry!

Thats really messed up... Can you change bakeries?

Can you ask what the consistency is? They should at least be able to tell you that...I would hope. Linzer tart filling is very thick, so I can understand why they wouldn't do it on a cake.

I would ask them how the fruit filling is made and how much thinner it is than the linzer tart filling. Or ask if it's anything else to it to get an idea. That stinks that they're being jerks about that...buy a whole cake?? That's kinda crazy.

Our RH uses Black Forest too. We didn't think too much about how the raspberry actually would be - - maybe we should have. But we mentioned about chocolate mousse and the BM said that it mixed very nicely with the raspberry. so that's what we're doing: chocolate mousse/raspberry. So I would think that it wouldn't be too thick. and if it goes with mousse I would hope it wouldn't be too tart either. If that helps any.

I stopped there to see if they had any cakes with the Raspberry filling but they were CLOSED!

How annoying (even though I only live about a mile away! lol)
